One hatted Wilson & Market, located conveniently next to Prahran Market tempts diners inward through their sprawling alfresco area.

The interior is equally impressive and sophisticated with deep emerald tones and some very eye catching artwork!

For a late Sunday lunch we ordered the; MBS 3 Scotch Fillet Steak (w/ wagyu fat potatoes & bone marrow sauce) – $43 and the Salt-Baked Celeriac (w/ kale, caramelised buttermilk & seeds) – $29

Both dishes were delicately balanced and a joy to eat! Particularly the steak, which was cooked perfectly. Although delicious, it was a bit disappointing that only 3/6 main options were available to my gluten intolerant companion and the risotto was unavailable.

Overall, an elegant restaurant perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks! You name it! Although a tad on the pricey side with a small menu, it’s still definitely worthy try for some delicious dishes 🙂

Came here for a Sunday afternoon wine with friends. Worst customer service experience ever. There were three tables full in the entire restaurant & 3 staff members working – the staff were shocking – ordered two drinks & had to stand up & ask for each one as waiters never came to our table. I would never come back due to the disappointing customer service. Just shocking.

Wilson & Market, to my delight, offers a rather impressive selection of gin on their drinks menu, and also had a section dedicated to seasonal gin and tonic. On the recommendation of the waitress, I tried a G&T mixed with strawberry bitters and peppercorn, and she was spot on. It had the fruity notes from the gin and strawberry, the slight bitterness from the tonic and the kick from the spice.

For food, my partner and I had the salt beef sandwich and a steak. The salt beef sandwich was absolutely delicious. The bread was soft yet crusty, and the beef was tender and robust. The tangy and sour dill pickles round up the flavour nicely. The scotch fillet, on the other hand, was rather ordinary, but this by no means indicates that it was not good.

The service was faultless throughout, and we very much enjoy a leisurely lunch before we venture further into Prahran Market.

We came to Wilson & Market for cocktails and beer but ended up with entertainment thrown in for free for as we sat inside in the bar area we could see the area outside reserved for a hens event that was going fill swing complete with a belly dancers, tears and drama… all good fun on a Saturday evening.

Inside the venue was a peaceful oasis of calm in comparison. Slender sleek styling with risqu artwork. I just loved the female Ned Kelly image. The cocktail list was one of the more unique lists we had seen and Kellie choose the Lemon Three Ways which certainly pack a tartiness. I opted for the a suitable obscure beer enjoying the midstrength Sunshine & Rainbows Sour Saison beer from Boatrocker Brewery. Im becoming a fan of sours which will no doubt be all the rage this summer. This one was very citrusy and was very easy drinking so could become my session ale of choice.

We were wowed by the look of the food with the oysters looking amazing. Shall have to expand this review one day soon to include some tasty menu items.

Attended a beautiful dinner here in anticipation for Prahran Market’s annual cheese festival. Each cheesy dish was better than the next. While these dishes may not be available on the standard menu, they showcase the thought, care and innovation that the chef maintains in all he creates, and that’s sure to be exemplified no matter what you order. Also note that the large venue is great for groups and semi-private functions.
