When I walked in and saw the durian crepe cake in the fridge waving at me, I completely disregard my initial plan of trying out the puff pastry. Who cares if the shop is named Yummy Puff? Puff pastry can wait for another day! Not only that, the Purple Sticky Rice Chiffon Cake caught my eye too. You dont see that flavour everyday and I would be a fool not to try that.
Well, pat on the back for me because both choices didnt let me down. Yet it pains me to admit that the chiffon cake was superior to the crepe cake. The chiffon cake was light and airy, and the sticky rice was a mochi-like sticky and tender texture. Thumbs up from the partner and you know its good when he who does not love sweets approves. The durian crepe cake was delicious, because it was filled with luscious durian flesh and cream, but unfortunately each individual layer of crepe was a bit dense. A bit thinner and it would have been perfect.
The milk tea was, much to our surprise, freshly brewed to order. The durian milk tea had durian flesh in them (woohoo!) but the ice cream was the generic some part icy, some part bland kind of ice cream. The matcha milk tea also had a generous serving of red beans, which was lovely.
Helpful and friendly service, and when noticing that I was going to pay by card, the waitress was kind enough to let me know that if I paid by cash, I get a 5% discount. Something to bear in mind everyone!
The best one I ever have taste not too sweet like most other desserts.
I tried the original cream puff bun and durian one which is really have durian fruit! Love love love !
The purple rice cake also very very good! Must try other favours.
Popped into Yummy Puff for a quick takeaway sweet post burger indulgence across the road. The staff were very lovely and offered us water while we were waiting for our puffy goodness. At 3 for $5 its quite a cheap sweet fix. They have vanilla, chocolate and green tea available so you can opt to try one of each. I sampled the vanilla which was a feather light choux with a nicely sweetened cream. If you like profiteroles this is the place for you. They also have a lot of other options in the cake cabinet if pastry isnt your thing. But why wouldnt it be
After an amazing burger dinner across the road we headed to YPP&C for some lite weight desserts to give us that essential sweet finish we were all after. Yummy had three cream puffs options and they sold three for $5. We skipped matcha and ordered vanilla & chocolate varieties. They delivered on taste and freshness and we so lite and airy that they hardly caused a dine in our overfilled bellies. Just what we needed.
The inside had a few seating options and they had other items and drinks in the menu but we were just after the choux pastry puffs of goodness.
Great service, great coffee, and the puff was perfect. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for something sweet to keel them going. I’ll be back!
3 puff for $5, it is a bargain, but it didnt taste good!!!! the vanilla puff was blent, it had no sugar, no flavor, and no taste!!!! the matcha puff was even worse, i cant taste matcha at all.
3 puffs for $5! Quite a bargain! Got the chocolate, matcha, and vanilla flavours. The best one was the chocolate. The matcha lacked intensity and the vanilla was just okay.
Service was pretty friendly, but a little bit slow despite being the only one there.
