I’ve only ever been here for drinks after work so being in the city today for the grand final i thought we’d try their breakfast.
We’d skipped the early rush so there were loads of free tables which was great. We waited 10 mins and then had to grab someone to order coffee. The waitress confirmed it was table service but then noone brought us menus or water, even though waste place was half empty. After another long wait we decided we’d go elsewhere for food and actual service so asked them to please make the coffees to go. They were so bad we left them and walked out. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the content or quality of the menu as we never saw one!
Photo attached just to show how empty it was.
Bearbrass is located in the perfect spot on the river so it’s a shame their service isn’t up to scratch

$1 chicken wings and they are spicy and really tasty, can’t get better than that.
The woodfire pizzas they have are awesome too.

We were a group of 10 and the dishes ordered were a hit and miss. Mine was unfortunately a miss. The Green Breakfast Bowl was accompanied by a simple lemon dressing which did nothing to give the dish flavour, and resulted in an overall dry and bland dish.
The Smashed Avo and Eggs Benny were reported to be average. The hits were the Big Breakfast and Fish & Chips, which my dining companions enjoyed. Some however did mentioned that the bread was a bit tough.
A wrong dish was served but the mistake was quickly rectified, and the waitress was quite apologetic about it. Two different waitresses were serving us, one was a ray of sunshine while the other didn’t look too happy to be working. We were rushed to order, and when we asked her to replace a dirty spoon, we never got it.
The drinks were reasonably good, but a bit inconsistent. My first cup of latte was weak and too hot to drink, but the second cup was wonderful.
Went out for a family dinner Christmas Eve and didnt really think much of this place. The pizza was okay but the fish and chips was so oily, it was deemed inedible. It was also near impossible to get any help from staff that night.
I went out with old workmates for drinks and dinner tonight and weather caused us to change our venue last minute to somewhere undercover ie … here.
There was a fairly busy crowd but despite this we were able to get a table and we were all surprised how quickly our food came out so a big thanks to the kitchen staff. I had the southern fried chicken burger with coleslaw, chipotle mayo and cheesey cheese. The chips that came with it were well seasoned and the atmosphere was pretty loud and busy. I highly recommend the House G&T.

Coffee was milky and average, but appeared to be a star when compared to the food. The coconut yoghurt was just that – one big bowl of yoghurt with a few frozen blueberries on top. Seriously? For $16, surely you can add more, or perhaps even a sprinkling of granola. I could have bought myself a tub of coconut yoghurt for $8 and had exactly the same experience. The avo smash was on the hardest, tiniest pieces of toast I’ve seen. Completely underwhelming. Inflated prices and sub-par food. A total tourist trap. Avoid!
