Had a really nice breakfast here this morning. Great coffee, food and service! We were right on 7:30am so the lovely waitress opened up for us. We had the oats with poached pear, berry compote and honey, which was nice and sweet and the poached eggs on sourdough (no muffins left), which was flavoursome and nicely cooked.
Food was terrible, atmosphere was non existent and service was mediocre. We ordered 3 tapas plates to share between the 2 of us. The Arancini was doughy flavourless and oily. The beef was served cold (on purpose?) and had an odd flavour we could not identify. The lamb was overlooked and charcoal but not in a good way. We were not charged for the beef dish as the waiter asked if we Enjoyed and we said no. Do not recommend, unless this place has a change of chef/management. Points to the waiter who was polite although faintly embarrassed obviously at having to serve this food to people and basically be the bearer of bad news…..
The service was very good, the lady who served me was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and there was a great atmosphere to the restaurant.
I want to like this restaurant. The interior is beautiful, but a few niggling things just don’t feel right. When you enter you have to search for a staff member to show you to your table. On your way to finding them, you pass another employee (possibly the chef) being very bored and totally ignoring you. Our table was near the front door, right next to all the tables and chairs that I expect would be on the sidewalk on a nice day. I don’t want to sit with the spare tables. The food and service was good, although as part of a coupon deal, I could have done with a little more.
Great neighbourhood gem. Been there a few times for weekend brunch and this place has not disappoint. This time I tried their lunch menu and I really liked the sliders. Three very different tastes, different meat, all tasty. Dinner menu has a large selection and very tasty meals.
Dee Casa was our first destination of food expedition in Melbourne. Wehad bruschetta with bacon, tapas of Morrocan lamb & African chicken wings, a trio of sliders brioche (London fish scallop pattie, Korean pork-braised rillettes with kimchi, etc., & black Angus pattie) with shoestring fries, tortilla ceviche & a kids meal. Brushetta was just ok; chicken wings were spicy & special; lamb was too over-cooked; tortilla ceviche & sliders were the ones that stood out. (Food – 3.5/5; Service – 3/5; Ambience – 3/5)
Italian Meatballs, Maroccan Lamb and the Syrian Chicken. All the spice were so good, not too much, not too less. The service was really great. Smile, always smiling service. The food was such a good experience. I am french and dificult but this place is the best in Melbourne if you want to have a great time. The size in the the plate are very good.
