My partner and I were in Southbank for some Boxing Day shopping – for lunch we opted to dine at Crown. Gradi was a place that she had been to previously and had a fantastic experience at. She was keen to share this experience with me.

We were welcomed and seated by a charming Italian waiter. We chose a pasta (Spaghettini al Granchio) as per his recommendation and opted for the Tartufata pizza for a different experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was classy but not too serious. Outdoor seating is available. There were still families having fun but this is definitely not your average family restaurant.

The spaghetti came first. This experience of spaghetti was truly oustanding. All the flavours of the seafood and fresh ingredients came together for a splendid taste. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection and the sauce was sensational. Was this pasta better than Lygon Street? Hands down, yes.

The truffle pizza was like nothing I had ever eaten before. The dough was soft, fluffy and hit the right spots. It hit spots that I didn’t even know I had! Every bite was a sensational delight of flavour. The cheese, meat and truffle cream created a fusion of unforgettable taste. I am still thinking about it three days later. If pizza was a God, I’d worship this one.

The prices of this restaurant are also higher than your average dining place. That is to be expected for the service that you receive. Credit card and public holiday surcharges are present.

This was definitely one of the finer experiences I have had in dining. I recommend this place if you would like to have an encounter with a touch of class.

Fast, friendly and delicious! The pizza was cooked to perfection. The deserts were amazing and I’m glad we decided to get it considering we were so full! The dark chocolate pudding and the semi freddo of the day are a must! I was also really excited the second time I went back and got a healthy option of grilled barramundi and quinoa!

Im a regular and loyal customer to the Gradi franchise, I visited one of the locations at least once a month.

I cant fault the food or service at this location, waiters and waitresses are attentive and the food has always been great and quick.

Though I dont like the inconsistency pricing, on the menu between all locations there price differences range about $2-$5 and I feel change every time I visited.

I also noticed the last time I visited that the famous margarita pizza and had a price increase and the cheese wasnt to the same quality as previous.

Came here with partner and bro to try out the pizza at this place. The seafood pizza had only one scallop on top. The Nutella calzone was huge and it felt like it had a whole jar of Nutella inside wow.

If you want average expensive Italian, heres the place. Good for a night out with the friends but it wont particularly satisfy a foodie. The oysters were fresh though.

Came here one December night with low expectations because my past experiences here were always average at best. However the dishes I chose tonight changed my mind for the better.

I ordered half a dozen oysters which were fresh. Along with Spaghettini al Granchio (spaghetti w/ spanner crab meat) and the Diavola pizza (hot salami & rocket pizza) because hot salami on pizza can never go wrong. The spanned crab spaghetti blew my mind! The entire dish was flavored in crab juices, I licked the plate clean. I will definitely be ordering this again. The pizza was amazing as well, so juicy and the servicing size for a whole pizza is huge.

Been here a couple of times and have had an enjoyable experience each time. The wood fired pizzas are amazing and the pastas are quite nice too. The wines are great too!

Great Pizza! Everything from the topping to the sauce and ingredients were perfect! Got a basic cheese pizza but it delivered being simple. Can’t wait to try more
