• Honestly

  Okay the interior looks really fancy and all, however the food is seriously mediocre for a higher price. The seafood was bland, I felt like i was eating rubber. The waiter that served us had poor English because so couldnt properly communicate with them. Not going to base my rating on that though. I just expected better quality food for that sort of price.

  Booked here for fathers day dinner for a table of 13 with 2 high chairs.
  Was placed on a table that had 8 chars and two high chairs.
  Asked to move to another table then was told that it was booked out.
  I had to ask for smaller chairs than the ones that were on the table so that we could all squeeze in. The charis themselves were flimsy and unstable and three time throughout the night I had to knock my chair back into place to avoid it collapsing.
  Onto the food, ordered banquet B which seemed like a good idea as its far easier to do this than trawl through 30 odd pages of options for 13 guests and this would have taken alot of our eating time up as we had to vacate the seat by 2 the 2 hour mark.
  For $78.80 per person we received: 2 wontons, 2 steamed soup dumplings, 1 pecking duck roll cut in half, a bowl of sweet corn soup that can be had from the food court for $4, then a small/medium sized plate with 2 prawns, 3 pieces of beef fillet, some string beans and a small bowl of fried rice, finally 1 banana cut in half deep fried and served with Ice cream. I was hungry after that. Had I ordered these items seperately off the menu and adjusted to suit the quantity that we were given we would have saved about $300. Ill keep this in mind for next time although it wont be at this venu.
  Finally $5 per head for tea…………

  Times 8 people $40 of tea……………. Thats enough tea to serve the whole resturant for the day.

  We wanted to stop over for a quick lunch so we tried out this place and turned out to be pretty good. The food was fresh and not like its been on a trolley all day! Enjoyed it and would go back

  Crown restaurants, already people think of over priced, average quality food and service and suffice to say this place falls directly into the stereotype.
  We came on a Saturday night and even though the restaurant wasnt completely full and staff sometimes seem standing around it still took 25 minutes for half of our drinks to arrive.
  We ordered the duck pancakes, prawn dumplings, signature dumplings, fried squid, Szechuan fish fillets and Szechuan prawns.
  Other than the fish fillets and prawns that were decent everything else was either average or very oily.
  Do not order the duck pancakes, all I tasted was sauce and they charged $52 for 6 small pieces. Ridiculous. Suffice to say most of us went home with stomach issues. Not a place I would visit again.

• Some Bunee Loves Food

  Food was OK, waiters were giving recommendations and know their food well. They were very accommodating with providing a set of cutlery and plastic bowl and plate for the kids.
  Steamed pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao) at Man Tong, Crown Melbourne. Quite expensive 4pc for $8.80. Similar to Din Tai Fung/China Red etc. The soup leaks out very easily on these ones, almost all of them broke before eating due to its very thin skin. These are bigger than Din Tai Fung and contain a lot of soup inside. Tasty and 4 isn’t enough..haha
