Tonight 4 of us ate here at the Barre prior to the theatre.
What the? Some high flying Melbourne Thai chef has prepared a menu and has his chef prepare it.
Firstly none of us could understand the menu.
Then following attention from staff we ordered.
The worst food I have ever tasted. Sticky rice wasn’t! It was dry white rice hard and rolled into an oval ball wrapped in a banana leaf. Inedible!!!! It was served with something – possibly some eggplant.
Then we ordered a calamari skewer. A whopping large piece of tough leathery calamari threaded into a skewer without any flavour!
A small chicken skewer came put the size of a matchbox.
I was assured it was a temporary menu However I’m afraid to ever return. It used to be such a lovely place to snack before a show!
