Dined here on a Monday night and the place wasnt busy at all. Service was lovely and accommodating. The menu wasnt really vegan friendly even though we did call in advance re: dietary requirements, however the chef was able to whip up a few options for our vegan dining companion. (She chose the pasta option- it looked super basic with a tomato red sauce and some garnish. Flavour wise- it was super spicy but she was too polite to say anything) . Most the table chose to order the cauliflower risotto which was super creamy/ cheesy with a smooth consistency. It was quite rich but we were able to balance that with a salad on the side. Wouldnt have mind a crunch or something chunky to add more texture to the dish. I had a taste of my friends rigatoni dish and it was good (probably most value for money). The tiramisu is a good pick for desserts, very generous serving size. Overall a nice experience for most but a tad overpriced for what you get.
Just a coffee today after arriving too early for my lunch appointment. This cafe has a curious long narrow shape. Its darkish and moderately stylish in a modern sort of way. I got an unenthusiastic greeting from a server who gave me an impression I was a bit of a nuisance as she was setting up for the lunch crowd. I can sort of understand the reaction but its still not a great look in hospitality. My long black was just ok. Nothing memorable or special about it at all, sadly. The milk jug was chipped as well although its probably a little bit picky to mention it. I sensed lack of enthusiasm in both staff and customers here. My impression is the current so so rating is likely deserved.
Great little place for a quick pre-show meal, or a leisurely one if you have the time. The eating area is quite open to the Southgate Shopping Centre, so getting a table further inside is best. The food is delicious and the service is quick. Nice place.
