Food : I ordered the Oz Burger with bacon + a basket of onion rings – I was craving for a burger and I really liked this one. I was a bit disappointed by the onion rings. Too oily for me.
Price : Average for this kind of fast food restaurant and I was full.
Service : Friendly staff
Ambience : Good place – User-friendly
Had the K.I.S.S burger with a side of fries.
A very simple burger option. Slightly smaller than average burger diameter, patty had some nice thickness to it at least. The bun was a plain ordinary white bun, holds the burger well, I wouldn’t go to say it’s a tasty bun but does the job. I enjoy the coarseness of the patty texture but could be better seasoned. Fries was normal nothing to shout about.
I won’t lie, the photos of the burgers here look pretty tempting, along with their claims of having the best burger (in Melbourne?). However, we found the burgers pretty mediocre to be honest. I’d probably prefer the likes of Huxtaburger or even Grill’d. The ambience is pretty nice though, especially on a sunny day.
A very good dining experience with juicy burgers! Located at the heart of Southbank amongst a plethora of restaurants donning the Crown establishment, we visited today to try out the burgers we had heard so much about.
Today we opted for the Route 66 and the Merrywell 2.0 with bacon on the side, which was immediately moved onto the Route 66 burger (mine) and Emily doesn’t like bacon. The burgers were very fulfilling, juicy, with a great saucy taste and an overall oozing flavour. We noted how it wasn’t too oily or fatty in feeling either which is definitely a good thing! The bun was soft, whilst the flavours combined made for a very satisfying burger.
An above average burger by any measure, with the chips perhaps a minor let down due to their lack of crunch and salt (which can be easily remedied using the salt on the table). Recommend if you are around the area craving a juicy burger for sure.

The burgers at The Merrywell are pretty average at best. The beef patties are not bad but the sauces are bland. Personally, the smaller size of the burgers is a positive for me as it provides a less messy meal but the buns are unfortunately too dry and tasteless. The loaded fries are also mediocre; some of the shredded pork used was too dry and chewy as well, and the fries and onion rings were soft and soggy as soon as they came out.
The service is decent and the atmosphere is quite nice here due to it being partially a bar; its quite warm and busy. Overall, I think The Merrywell charges a bit too much for their burgers considering how average they are. I would only recommend coming here if youre around Crown and feeling some burgers.
Was here recently with some friends after a long and exhausting morning at the baby expo… and bub felt like a burger haha!!!
I got thr bird in hand burger which was massive! Good bun with huge piece of crumbed chicken. Good flavour. The bacon and cheese was prob a bit too much for me but it completed the burger. No elegant way of eating it haha.. chicken could have been a little bit moist. Partner orderer the Merrywell and he thoroughly enjoyed it!
I also got the bananarama milkshake.. and it was delicious! Def. did not need the sprinkled 100/1000s but bub did enjou the sugar haha!
Big disappointment with the onion rings and fries. Lacked in flavour and was not crispy at all.
Overall nice meal. Service was lovely. Plenty of tables at 3pm on weekend so that was great!

Loaded fries with bacon, cheese and sour cream. Every bite was fatty yet delicious! mmm imagine crunchy bacon bits on warm melted cheese covered fries and then dipped in a cold sour cream. Amazing!
