I was left disappointed by the high tea experience at The Waiting Room. I had high hopes for the place however only seemed to enjoy the savoury aspects – pie and tart. Didnt enjoy any of the sandwiches or desserts. Scones were average… Weak selection of teas available.

I organised a hens high tea here. It was easy to organise and the staff were very friendly on the day. The sandwiches and warm pastries were delicious. The highlight were the scones and wine. I would definitely return!

  • Crabapples For Lunch

Got some cakes here and they looked and tasted pretty good. This place sells more traditional style cakes, and is probably not as impressive in design or balance as speciality shops like Bibelot. However, ambience is quite nice so this makes a good place for a coffee and chat.

I have been here for high tea but never been here for after work drinks. We were going to have drinks at Nobu but their bar was quite full so we went to The Waiting Room instead.

They have a small but good cocktail selection. I chose one of the classics, a mojito, and it was very very nice.! All my friends are very impressed with their drinks, the seats are comfy and they gave us some bar snacks (free I am pretty sure). Such a great way to wind down for the weekend

4.5. In the middle of the Crown Towers and serenaded by live piano there are certainly worse places to be. We had the high tea and I must say its one of my favourite high tea experiences to date beautifully presented and taste super good. Highlights: the snack sized treats! I love these tiny sized food. Lowlights: the actual tea service was a little strange, we had to ask for our own tea instead of the giant pots they wanted to pour out of.

I totally love the afternoon tea here. Three tiers of goodness! Their savouries were so so but the desserts omg, they were beautifully crafted and very unique! I came here for my hens party and have been back a few times since!

  • Long Black With Cinnamon

A great variety of morsels for $70 with unlimited tea/coffee. The savoury options were very basic albeit tasty except the muffin. However the sweet options we really loved! In the 1st course I suggest ending on the flower dome – its the best one! The strawberry and rhubarb cake is also AMAZING. Scones were served warm and the date scone had a lovely herbaceous note. Petit fours were delicate and a good way to finish.
