Located away from the busy shopping complex, this newly renovated restaurant caught my attention due to its spacious and neatened interiors. With a decent menu selection, food was average, portions were generous yet price is reasonable but marginally higher than its competitors nearby (if not including its introductory 20% off). Staff were friendly yet seemed to lack experience as it took a while to take orders, plate base edges had sauce smeared and I had to wipe the seat before sitting. Their ambiance is probably what caught my attention as it is less cramped and less noisy than its nearby competitors.
Newly opened Springvale restaurant has a monstrous menu and for their grand opening (not sure how long for) has 20% off your meal excluding drinks. That actually makes their prices comparable to the local competition, that being said the servings are larger than usual. It’s quite spacious and occupies two previous businesses, fitted out with red leather seats and a provision of condiments at the tables.
Although on their pictured menu their BBH didn’t look that appetising I went with it anyway, I got their medium sized BBH which was pretty large for a regular. The cuts of pork and beef were beautiful slices, great fat to meat ratio. The salad provided was generous and appreciative as it’s a great way to get my vegetable intake, being soaked and softened in the mildly spicy broth. It was well balanced and I contemplated on adding more chillies, it was great as is. I usually don’t comment on the noodles on BBH but these were exceptionally good, slightly springy and slippery.
My friends thought their food was decent also but it was obvious that the staff needed more experience in taking orders. That’s okay, we’re a forgiving bunch. What may break this restaurant is their pricing, some of their dishes are some of the most expensive in Springvale and competition is tight here. Others however are on par. May be back as I want to give their banh canh cua a go!
Excellent food with service. It’s near to the ANZ bank newly opened. Had the grilled chicken with.l egg noodles soup for $13. Big portion and tasty too.
