Greeted by a man who was mid napping. Seated at a table and placed our orders. Food took a while to come out( 25ish minutes ) Especially cos we were the only people there. Ordered the beef pho, diced beef with tomato rice and prawn spring rolls. Spring rolls were delicious. Really crispy and light. Got that prawn texture and flavour. Beef pho.. would not return here for pho. The beef ratio was terrible. Had probably about 10 slices of very small pieces of beef. Diced beef was average.
Warning: make sure you are billed according to the prices stated in the menu. Waitress overcharged us $6.00. That was last year. This time, we thought to give them second chance. Waiter overcharged $5.00. Whether food is nice or not, overcharging what is not on the menu is daylight robbery as the owner virtually snatched my money from my hands just as I was counting, thus I don’t know if he took extra $5 from me.!!
This is the pretty typical budget Vietnamese restaurant in Springvale. The food is extremely cheap and the ingredients and service are reliable representations of what you pay.
My main issue with the food in the past is that certain components can end up dry, particularly the rice. So if you are going to eat at a restaurant like this in Springvale, I’d recommend going for a non-rice, soupy dish; e.g. pho.
