We were satisfied with our meatballs and mashed potatoes- especially for the price. It’s always a fun experience lining up and ordering food at the ikea cafeteria.

Its not bad. The cafe is a self serve with staff to assist with the hot section. Fair range of Swedish food and options for the whole family. The items arent too expensive, but can add up quickly. My faves the Swedish meatballs with mash potatoes and (extra) lingonberry

Ordered the famous meatballs. Personally I did not like them at all and would not recommend however I did like the mashed potato and the jam combination on the side. The coffee was also good.

IKEA food is decent food at a good price point. Being a few minutes away I’ve had my fair share of IKEA meals in the past.

Give it a try if you’re IKEA shopping, the food is overall just ok but they are good value for money. Here’s my rundown below:

    10x Meatballs at $7.95
Cheap highly processed meatballs served with mash potatoes, jam and gravy. Whilst the meatballs do taste of poor grade quality the flavours are actually good. Also the regular meatballs taste better than the chicken variant.

    Salmon with vegetable cakes
Nothing particularly special but this is a nice healthier option at IKEA. Steamed salmon served with a side of greens and vegetable cakes (fried vegetable fritters – yummy)

    Daim Cake at $4
Small slice of chocolate cake. Maybe a tad pricey for a store bought cake that has been sliced but it is seriously yum and I will probably order it again in the future

    Apple Cake at $4
The cinnamon is so strong. Some people will love this but others not so much.

    Hot Dog at $1
It’s a basic boring steamed hot dog in a bun but it’s only a $1!

The chicken meat balls are OK. The apple pie is not that great, with a dry crust. The coffee is good too. The food counter is arranged and managed really well but on weekends the wait queue may get longer.

The best thing about going to IKEA is the $1 hot dogs. Theyre never fresh, theyre not particularly good – but they sure do hit the spot! Hallelujah!

  • Savvy And Lifestyle

Basic cheap food for a basic menu. I love to sit here and grab a hot dog after my cheap shopping splurge after my IKEA shopping. It’s a pretty good deal with everything they offer on the menu. $5.99 breakfast how could you go wrong, but again you pay for what you get.
