Had a nice time at this place. Although the place is quite small but the food and the environment is quite good. They have a good variety of food as well.
If you are in Springvale and craving Indian chaat and fried snacks, this is your best bet. A very tiny outlet located right across Woolworths. We have tried most of their chaat items specially Aloo Tikki and Chole Bhature. Taste of all the items we have tried has always been far from authentic.
Prices are on the higher side and service is fairly slow.
Overall, a decent place to grab a quick bite if you are really craving Desi chaat and Fried snacks and you can not think of any other better option.
Ordered their veg platter (which was boring coz it was too plain and bland) but also ordered their paneer pakora (which is paneer deep fried with batter) and kachori (like veg fritters), i love the kachori but the paneer pakora was very bland, they need to put more seasoning on the batter. Service was friendly and fast, Overall good.
The people going here must not know where else to go in the area for Indian food. Or maybe they like the seating available and bollywood tunes playing?!
For the same food, I prefer the dessert store out front along Springvale Rd adjacent the Indian grocery store. Better food quality, same price, better service and you can get traditional desserts there.
SERVICE: 2.5/5
Nothing much to comment about with the service, neither here nor there. However, 40mins for amount of food ordered and half empty restaurant was too long.
FOOD: 2/5
Poori Chole ($8)
+ve
-Flavour of the chickpea curry was reasonably tasty
-Serving size enough to fill you up quite nicely
-ve
-Chickpeas were hard, needed more time to cook through
-Bread was more doughy than pillowy
Samosa Chaat ($8 double serve)
+ve
-Very flavoursome chaat
-Serving size was generous
-ve
-It was all a bit mushy, the samosa would’ve been better remaining in tact more
-Cucumber pieces through it was a first (not sure about you but warm cucumber isn’t great)
French Fries ($3.95)
They were stale pieces of potatoes. Not pleasant at all. Inedible.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 2.5/5
Cleanliness just acceptable. There were a handful of tables for dining in and a couple of them dirty plates still lying around. Either sense of urgency not a priority or understaffed. Bollywood clips on the TV was better than a quiet restaurant I suppose.
KID FRIENDLY: Not preferable
