Next level tiger rolls – they’re crispy, fresh and have great texture. They also have some sort of other seasoning, maybe brushed with salted butter, so they also have really good flavour.
There are also the thin tiger sticks, which aren’t as long as the thin baguettes but these are also good. They’re exceptional with just plain butter and pate.
Tabac really have some of the freshest bread in Springvale, and considering there are a fair few bakeries in the area, I reckon they’re one of the best.

Work would order pork rolls from Tabac. Vietnamese bread rolls from here are quite pleasant. The tiger bread rolls add an extra sweetness and makes the roll not as ‘messy’ when eaten due to its texture being not as crumbly as the traditional bread rolls. However, the meats and other contents inside are pretty average tasting.
With the price entailed to the traditional vietnamese bread rolls (Banh mi), the quality is definitely way above! The value you get from a well priced banh mi against the amount of meat and veg you get is unparalled.
Definitely recommending the crispy pork roll! Never eating banh mi anywhere else!
Really great Bahn mi! They do the tiger rolls really well, pork is crispy and delicious too + they are quite generous with the amount of ingredients they add in your roll
After having my first Tiger Roll at Tabac Bakery, safe to say I was converted! As mentioned in other reviews, Tiger Rolls are unique compared to regular Banh Minh buns because it has a crusty surface and the surface usually tastes somewhere between sesame and butter – absolutely delicious!
The only recommendation I would give anyone when getting the tiger rolls would be the Crispy Pork roll! The fillings in the crispy pork roll are abundant with tender crispy pork, bits of pork skin and fried shallots – SO GOOD! All for only $5.00.
Tabac Bakery is the sort of eatery where I am willing to climb out of my cosy bed bright and early (rare for me) just in exchange for a fluffy, warm and mouth-watering Crispy Pork Tiger Roll 🙂
