Day: Friday
Meal: Dinner
Table for: 2
Occassion: Korean food fix
Dishes:
Dumplings: Decent dumplings, love the sauce
Kimchi pancake: Full of flavours, generous amount of kimchi, crispy… big plate size not sure what more I can say…just yummy!
Army stew: this was my favourite, high of calories, pot full of evil badness!!! Super yummy!!! Gym can wait till the next day.
Ambiance: Cosy, family vibe
We both enjoyed the dinner a lot, we left with full belly and happy smiles.
I’m not a huge fan of Korean food but I thought I’d be adventurous and try something new. Came across this small little place in Springvale. A traditional Korean menu with heaps ti choose from. Dishes were well cooked but could have done with a little more flavour
Thanks for the meal!
Ordered Kim chi pork soup, black bean noodles and spicy chicken sizzling with extra cheese.
Flavoursome home style Korean food in Springvale just as good as speciality Korean surburbs in Sydney. Kim chi soup was sour, salty and had a nice porky taste. The black bean noodles are a definate recommend. The noodles were hot and perfectly seasoned in a creamy black beans sauce. It was not too sweet like it usually is at other places. The spicy chicken was very homely tasting.
Update
2nd time – instead of the chicken ordered the beef ribs. Wow was the flavour unique. Both sweet and salty with amazing depth. Super recommend x1000. As such upping the rating to a 5!!
Food are yummy especially the fried Korean chicken, we ordered the small size but the portion size is satisfying and most importantly they are boneless . The Korean stew and ginseng chicken are yummy too. It would be good if the seafood pancake can be more crispy tho. Staffs are friendly.
We went here for dinner and loved it! Fair to say its one of the better places to eat in Springvale, but also great value for money.
Food: We ordered the Kimchi pancake, Jjangmyeon and Sizzling Chicken Buldak with cheese.
First, the pancake was so yummy and considering price its one of the best in Melbourne. It has a strong taste with all the flavours of kimchi and onion, but is very crispy as well. Many korean places in Melbourne charge $17 for a half crispy pancake, this is the real deal for $10! And its a great serving size too.
The Jjangmyeon was good, although lacked a bit of black bean flavour. Its still up there though. The sizzling chicken was a bit watery and the sauce has missing that thickness, also the plate didnt come sizzling as usual. But the taste was still good.
The best thing was the Kimchi, which was super fresh and crunchy! The best kimchi I’ve had at a Korean Resturant in Melbourne.
Service and Ambience: Staff were cute, seems as if it is family owned and they were very nice. The feel of the resturant is small and homey but still modern.
~ Great place to eat Korean at super affordable prices. Pricing is one of the key features that makes this place great as the quality is on par to the more expensive places in Melbourne! ~
