Yeah like everyone keeps saying, this place has the best bread in Melbourne. Probably just a matter of time before you will need to line up out the door at here. White sourdough and olive sourdough are my favourites.
Sourdough, panini, oat and date barcheesecake
get BAGUETTE with your meal of the night, or with good butter. Get FIVE FRUITS SOURDOUGH for your toast, on its own. Get DATES & OATS SLICE for an afternoon tea. OMG. Such a hidden little place for the neighbourhood. Will come back and say hi to the asian lady again.
I am French, so I have ridiculously high standards when it comes to bread. I find that 95% of the bread sold in Australia is pure rubbish, especially supermarket bread (rant over).
Anyway, the bread at Baker’s Larder is the real thing, it’s awesome, it doesn’t go hard or mouldy in a few days.
The croissants and pains au chocolat (chocoloate croissants) are spot on as well, and taste like they have been teletransported from France. Finding real croissants is also hard man.
Best Sourdough bread in Melbourne!
I am an avid fan of Sourdough bread, and had walked past this shop a few weeks ago. Decided to pop in this morning to grab a loaf of Sourdough & it blew my socks off! The crusty edges, the perfectly super sour flavour & the slightly chewy soft centre is what dreams are made of!
I bought a hot cross bun for my boyfriend, and it’s also one of the best I’ve tried (I’ve eaten Baker D. Chirico, Dench hot cross buns & its way better).
The bakery is really small, the decor is simple & natural. The service is lovely.
Never given a 5 star rating before but this deserves it!
Omg best bread ever!!! You have to try! Even the cheap plain Turkish bread ($1.25) tastes so good!! .
Yes. Great chewy bread. Love the casalinga! The twists are really delicious too
