Live music in st kilda. Haven’t tried the food but the live music on Thursday and Friday rocks.
This is what sadness must taste like… If you’re down St Kilda way and on the prowl for fresh, exciting, tasty, authentic tapas, then stay away from LOST. This has got to be the worst tapas we have ever had the misfortune of trying. We should have known something evil this way comes when the patatas bravas arrived at the table in a square moulded shape smothered in what appeared to be a can of chopped tomatoes. IMO unless you are jelly, a terrine, or the occasional timbale of rice, you have no business being in a mould. We could overlook the peculiarity of the plating up if the dish was a winner but sadly it was not. Lacking seasoning and that moreish quality patatas bravas are known for, it was not a pleasant dish. The Spanish staple chorizo arrived at the table cold and uncooked in the centre. When we hear the word chorizo we conjure up thoughts of juicy succulent chunks of spicy pork sausage with a bits of charred goodness. This dish of sadness was tough, chewy and redolent of the bitter taste of uncooked paprika. The caramelised figs were just a euphemism for dried hard figs and were a huge let down. The chilli prawns were pan fried prawns just sitting in oil. Not appealing. The salt and pepper calamari was the only dish we actually ate all of and I suspect this was because it was deep fried and lets be honest, almost anything can be improved or salvaged by a bit of deep fried action. There was not a shred of anything in that miserable place which remotely invoked thoughts or feelings of a beautiful, vibrant, zesty culture which has inspired some of the worlds most glorious dishes. Taste free and Spainfree, Lost was a deep disappointment especially for the price. Nestled between the legendary Claypots and Blue Corn Mexican on Barkly street in St Kilda I can not understand how this place has survived more than a season. As my daughter said when we drove past it on the way home lets say a quiet prayer for the poor souls inside who didnt know any better . AMEN
Mediocre everything except for price. Small dishes were quite good! sangaria was ok.
the 2 different paella we had were truely BAD. they looked normal but tasted of nothing – no taste of salt, no taste of spices. at a bare minimum, how do you manage to make a dish and put no salt in??
the prices they charge are proper restaurant prices, i.e. over the top prices for small servings of food. food is certainly not worth it. service is ok, but nothing spetacular, so i’m not sure what they’re charge that sort of price for..
We weren’t quite sure what to expect here after reading so many bad reviews but we were pleasantly surprised! The waitress was very nice and helpful. The tapas was very yummy. We had the calamari and the chicken skewers.
For mains we shared the mixed paella. It was delicious and very filling (big serves). The only thing I can comment on negatively is that the sangria was mediocre. Overall it was a great dinner.
Did not enjoy my experience with this restaurant sadly. Don’t forget the customer is what makes your business! Lost my business for sure!
Ok, so the waitress wasn’t the best but she was ok, but what do you expect in St Kilda. Had the mixed paella for two and it was lovely. Not the biggest but $42 it was fine. Great bottle of white Rioja to accompany.
Could this be the worst tapas in Melbourne. Overpriced terrible food. The mussel dish had seven mussels in it in a tasteless sauce, frittata had olives in it that weren’t pipped, the same tomato sauce on the omelette was used for the cold tasteless meatballs. The only half decent dish was the squid. And my sangria never arrived. Now I know why this place was the only empty restaurant on a very busy night in St Kilda. Don’t waste your time or your money.
