Walk past and you’ll miss it – Milk the Cow is pretty nondescript, dimly lit but creates it’s own attractive ambiance with walls of wine and display full of cheeses.
The menu itself is pretty large and you’ll have a tough time deciding if it’s your first time.
Safe bet is to go with the wine and cheese flights, which are specially selected to match each other. You can also pair with sparking, beers, dessert wines, whiskeys, etc.
*Baked brie – this needs to be eaten straight away, as it doesn’t stay melty for long! Deliciously creamy, and with the small dried figs and truffle honey, it’s a one-pot wonder.
*3 cheese board – all cows cheeses selected by the fromagier. There was an exceptionally creamy brie-like cheese, a hard cheese which was like the texture of parmesan with the aroma of rosemary, and another soft cheese which was a bit more soapy in flavour (not my favourite).
*Fig shrub gelato – had to try this. Faint aroma of the blue cheese is there in this creamy gelato, finishes with the sweetness of the pear and fig. I really enjoyed it, worth a go!The service is very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, if you haven’t been before they will take you through the entire menu.
Great place to cheese out with wine and friends.
