Its pretty good value for where it is. Of course they save on costs by having no table service. The fish packs at $15 can just about feed 2 with a small addition. Beer is cheap. Tacos are good but there isnt very much of it. So overall great value but you just have to work out how to order. $40 for 3 fish tacos, a fish / chips / salad pack and 2 beers is good value. Never mind the salad looked really small!

Ive had this place bookmarked for some time so when friends suggested that we try some I was pretty happy. We had t/a dinner beer on the weekend and the food was amazing, absolutely delicious!

We ordered battered fish, and it wasnt greasy, the batter was light and crispy, Yummo!

The chips were tasty, hot, fresh and also crispy. Not soggy half cooked chips here yay!!

Oh and the potato scallops were heavenly lol

The calamari was good, but the fish and chips here were outstanding. And the food was sooo reasonably priced.

This place is definitely worth a visit!

    – Granita (Watermelon and Mint) $5

A really cheap, great place to stop for a quick snack and refreshment when on a nice day out at the beach. The granitas are a smart way to handle your thirst during the Summer heat and the chips were very cheap and seasoned well. I definitely recommend this place as a pit stop for food when youre at St Kilda beach, but would love to come back one day and try their fish tacos for lunch. Definitely one of the more cheaper areas to eat in the sea of overpriced cafes it is surrounded by.

Melbourne was turning on the weather today today, and like most Aussies that meant one thing – getting some sun. As we live nearby we thought it’d be a great idea to wander down to the boardwalk and grab a quick lunch, with that in mind my partner suggested we try Paperfish. Located next to Pontoon this hole in the wall is cutely arranged amongst the sand and rocks with long wooden picnic benches and tree stumps for seating. It was packed given the warm weather and there was a bit of a line but it gave us time to look at the menu. I liked the variety of grilled/battered fish and side options. There were also a few taco options which sounded good with 3 different salads as well as a pretty good tinnie/drinks section.

We decided to get grilled blue grenadier + sweet potato chips. We did have to wait awhile however I have to say that I was impressed with the foods quality and quantity (especially the sweet potato fries which were a huge serve for $5!). Fish and chips were hot and well seasoned – we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal! I’d definitely come back again.
