In the heart of St Kilda street and always packed. Making the most of the emerging warmer weather, we managed to get a table outside rather quickly. We ordered an array of starters and mains, accompanied by some sangria . Highlights: very generous portions and the pastas was pretty good! Lowlights: was a slow start with clearing tables and menus but great service once we got started. The pigeons were out in full force and attacking any empty tables with leftover food. No fault of the restaurant of course!
Great service. Foods good, but the menu seemed to have a lot of similar dishes slightly differently prepared. A little bit underwhelmed with the menu options, but foods well prepared and looks really delicious. The restaurant is large and busy, even as the evening went on more people were arriving.
Would go back again !
We dined at Roccoco as a large group and had a delicious meal with flawless and patient service. The polenta chips are amazing, the pastas and pizzas were traditional Italian style, full of flavour with fresh ingredients. And the chicken skewers, mushrooms and marinated eggplant were all delicious. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Glad we went here for the Sunday Brunch.
Totally worth the value as portions are big and yummy.
#Rococo @ #StKilda also do awesome crispy and yummy #Fries. Coffee and Hot Chocolate were too good.
Ordered a Chilly Omlette and Smoked Salmon with Potato Salad, Fries, Hot Chocolate and Piccolo.
Chilly omlette and fries were our favorite. Almost all the tables had ordered fries and it’s impossible to not order them. Second-best was smoked salmon. It was quite a task to finish the hot chocolate.
Their menu boasts of plenty of options for Vegans and Vegetarians.
Definitely recommended.
Used to come here quite often as I loved their Dips, beetroot salad and potato pizza. They no longer have the beetroot salad which is disappointing…
I am obsessed with their flatbread and the beetroot dip, so damned delicious!!! I also love the strawberry meringue dessert thingy (forget what its called).
The mushroom risotto is yummy and a couple of their pastas are good too.
Wish I still lived close by so I can come here more often.
My score for this place unfortunately is not for the food! For service and kindness. A couple of nights ago I went in with my partner. Was about 11.30 every coffee shop in the street was close. Despite the coffee machine was cleen they make us two beautiful cofee and light the fireplace. They let us enjoy our warm cuppa. Thanks a lot! I will definetly come back to try some of the vegan dishes!
WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE WE HAD HERE.
It was a warm beautiful Sunday afternoon. St Kilda was pumping with people excited at the sight of the first sunny warm day in a long time in Melbourne.
We were lucky to get a table straight away outside. So thankful for that as it allowed us to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of people walking past and enjoy the weather all at the same time.
We were given menus and ordered an excellent glass of Tempranillo pronto.
The menu was impressive – so many choices to choose from. A quick glimpse indicated the true authentic Italian nature of this venue. We couldn’t go past the housemade ricotta gnocchi and prosciutto pizza. And what about the housemade meatballs and the saganaki sticks? Too many choices that got us puzzled as to what to order. So we ordered it all.
And boy, was it good. The housemade ricotta gnocchi were made with love; you could taste it. So smooth and not grainy at all, deliciously thrown in a rich tomato base with mozzarella cheese.
Our pizza was a winner too. We loved the fact that the prosciutto was cooked and under freshly sliced slices of pear which made for some great relief of he saltiness of the dish.
The winner of our visit were the meatballs. They were falling off our forks. They were true nonna’s recipe, cooked with care and love. As to our yummy saganaki sticks, you can’t go wrong with cheese on a stick, right?
A great experience complimented by the wonderful weather and delicious food. We will definitely return.
