Went to the St. Hotel for a Christmas function. It has a nice dance floor. Handy having two bars in the function area as well. However I feel that the canap menu and canap service needs to be worked on. Canaps should be served in both rooms and a canap tray full of food should never be left at the bar, making it difficult for others to access the food. There needs to be a better way to provide food to those with dietary requirements. Colleagues and I were concerned that the vegetarians/vegans were not being provided with enough food, mainly because food may have already been eaten before it reached those who had these requirements plus I remember the vegan dish coming out quite late in the evening. Food should not be staggered like it was. Some people werent able to have any of the canaps until 9pm (when function started at 6:30pm). Perhaps there could have been a way our company could have organised the party so the food was not staggered. Im not sure… I definitely think more food was needed. It isnt safe to have a work function with an open bar with lack of food that is staggered throughout the evening. It has definitely been an eye opening experience for me and food for thought… I doubt I will ever want to go to another canap and drinks event again after this.
Also, air conditioning/temperature was a major issue. One of our rooms was very warm.
On the positive side, the dumplings were delicious. All the other canaps were not that nice.
