This place has nice, simple feel and newspapers on offer which I enjoy. I went there on the weekend and ordered smashed avacado on toast with a poached egg and latte.

My meal came out within 3 minutes, faster than my coffee. Unfortunately the bread was soggy underneath, and the spinach and egg were cold. I believe it was a pre-prepared meal which had been sitting there. Because I dont like cold food, and I was afraid of getting sick by eating a cooked egg which had been sitting there, I did not eat my meal.

I paid fir my meal and the staff noticed I had not eaten much at all. I explained that it was cold, she agreed and gave me 10 coffee vouchers to compensate (I thought this was great, as I get a take away coffee every morning before work).

When I went to claim my first coffee they said I could only use it in house (not fir take away). They would not differ from this and do it rendered to vouchers invalid fir me (on a side note if anyone wants 10 in-house coffee vouchers get in touch).

I wont go back. The risk of getting sick is too high and they dont take any pride in their food. Many more better cafes to go to in Sunbury.

This place is well below par. I ordered smashed avacado on toast with a poached egg. The meal came out within 3 minutes and the egg was cold and the bread was soggy.
I understand pre-preparing elements of a meal, especially when busy. However the place was empty so there is no excuse to serve pre prepared breakfasts which are cold.

We advised the cafe staff and they provided 2 coffee vouchers and appoligised for the bad food. However when we went back to claim the coffee, we couldnt use it. It was for sit in only, not take away. Far better places for coffee and food around. Dont waste your time on poor service and pre prepared, cold food.

I like the Nook, have only tried it for breakfast tho!
The coffee is okay (not amazing but up there in top cafes for Sunbury) and the food is delicious!
The customer service is very friendly and the whole place has a nice atmosphere.
I would recommend a stop past and enjoy the food. In the cabinet.

    Lovely Lunch! Butt..

Came here for lunch a couple of days ago for the first time in quite a while.
The place gave off a great first impression in terms of both food and service.

    Food and Drink Thoughts:
MEAL: Beautifully presented and really tasty too!
I had a steak sandwich, it came with chips and salad. As much as I love food the portion size of this meal was honestly a bit overwhelming, however once I began eating I knew I had made a good choice, it was a delicious sandwich! Fresh and full flavoured with the steak cooked just perfectly.
The beer battered chips were as good as they get!
Only let down here was the side salad, simply because it didn’t seem to have any dressing?? That aside though, food was spot on. I felt bad I couldn’t polish it all off.
COFFEE: Two thumbs up for the cappuccino!!!
I won’t rate it the best coffee in town but definitely worth a try if you are coming here to eat. Coffee here comes out with a little biscuit too which is always a sweet bonus.

Staff are quick to greet the customer and service is friendly and highly attentive.
The team here are really on the ball.
Meals came out fast and quality was not compromised.
Requested some extra sauce and got it soon as you could say sauce.

This venue is wonderfully inviting with well thought out decor providing a charming atmosphere that really adds to the dining experience.
The outdoor space is incomparable to any other cafe in Sunbury. I’m fairly sure this is the only cafe in town that has alfresco dining which is tucked away from the street making it a pretty special spot.
It is also non-smoking which is considerate to people who actually want to enjoy their meals. Taking the opportunity to sit out here seemed like a no-brainer since it was beautiful weather for it. Unfortunately though, after sitting for about five minutes my butt was sore!!
I hate to get all negative about this now but it was a problem.

The Issue: Metal chairs outside were super uncomfortable.
Sadly this just contradicts the layed back and relaxed feel this establishment offers and was the reason I couldn’t give Nook Cafe a higher rating.
People will sit down for a meal often for half an hour or more, it is a challenge to do that out here. The harsh furniture was distracting and really did detract from an otherwise lovely experience.
I felt a sense of relief when it was finally time to get out of that chair. This cannot be good.

I would suggest the above could be addressed with the simple addition of cushions on the outdoor seating which would soften things and also have the potential to brighten up an area, which in my opinion could really use a little colour.
On a positive note though, the chairs left as is provide a unique and exciting opportunity for testing out the quality of your own personal cushion! I wouldn’t recommend it myself, but what you do with your booty is none of my business.
Another aspect letting the outdoor space down; the contrasting theme from inside to outside. There is just no flow.
Inside looks so amazing, when you step outside and make the comparison the alfresco area looks a bit undercooked in terms of styling. Not that it needs all kinds of bells and whistles or anything.. there is nothing wrong with a paired back approach, but something to bring out an ambience maybe? There are many options available to enhance the aesthetic appeal of an area like this. The chair cushions could be a starting point.

    HOT TIPS:
    * The steak sandwich is serious business (not for babies).. You really need to be hungry to conquer it.
Could quite possibly work for sharing between two.
    * Re: Outdoor dining- ‘If you’re gonna park your trunk you’d wanna hope you got the junk’

    Final Verdict:
Overall I’d consider this place a pretty good breakfast/ brunch/ lunch spot. There’s definitely room for improvement but that’s not a bad thing.. hopefully a few simple changes end up leading to a really great outcome.
I haven’t tried the whole menu but so far could not fault the food.
    Exceptional quality.

Will be back for sure.. maybe I’ll take a seat indoors next time!

Try this place out for yourself!

*Unfortunately I dove right into the food before the photo opportunity so I’m left without the tasty pics.. I’ll have to remember to take it easy next time.

Impressive menu for such a suburban place. Fresh food that’s well prepped and the staff are very good. Love this place for breakfast or a light lunch.

Came here for brunch. The venue is quite nice with a fire place for those cold winter days. Orders are taken at the counter, and meals must be paid upfront. Ordered the sweet corn fritter from the daily specials menu and the big breakfast. Both dishes were disappointing. The corn fritter was soggy, the sausage was inedible as it was hard and tasted bad, and the hash brown had a strange consistency – something else was mixed in with the potato. The salsa was really good though. Left this place feeling unsatisfied.

Had a take away coffee it was made within 2 minutes. $4.60. Officially the worst coffee ive ever had, sour and burnt.staff look great cool shirts and nice hair. Maybe you should be paying a little more attention to making a drinkable coffee as i had to throw it out after one sip….terrible
