Lizzies first impression: I have been here time and time again and its such a great local restaurant!
Lizzie enjoyed: the banh xeo (Vietnamese pancakes) are the real winners here – I always order it. The banh canh cua (crab with rice noodles) is delicious and its my favourite thing to order. They also do a really good sweet plum juice and avocado smoothie.
Lizzie did not enjoy: dont expect the best service here – especially on a special day like Fathers Day etc.
Lizzie rates overall: highly recommend this place if youre wanting a local feed!
Decided to lose my BBH virginity here on the advice of a Viet food insider. She couldnt have got it more right. The BBH had a good amount of salt with a robust pork flavour. The veggies were bountiful and the slices of pork were cooked well. Meanwhile the side of prawn spring rolls were some of the most flavoursome spring rolls Ive ever tasted! I also really liked the avocado smoothie – very true to the flavour of avo and appropriately thick. For the price ($12 for a huge soup) the value proposition against the quality is exceptional. We came on a Friday afternoon and despite how huge the venue was, the place was buzzing with locals a great sign that proved itself in the food. Would recommend!
Co Do is always on the itinerary whenever we have visitors from overseas. Spoilt for choice, we have tried several Vietnamese restaurants down the road yet still prefer Co Do for their hearty beef pho broth and meaty spring rolls.
Venue is very modern and cool and very spacious. And they are the most busy in the street.
But food quality had to improve. Order the coleslaw chicken, salt and pepper pork rips and duck with prawn paste. Everything else is ok pretty standard. But the worest of it is the duck very dry and overcooked.
A local favorite. Serving the best Vietnamese noodle soup (bun bo hue) as their speciality. Their Vietnamese pancakes are huge and a must try, however sometimes can take up to 30 mins to cook on a busy day.
