what else can I say. there are heaps nice Vietnamese restaurants with good food and service in western suburbs. but definitely not this one.
Horrible experience. Waited an hour for the dish and staff weren’t even apologise. Poor customer service and food just so average, you can get better food and service in any other restaurant in sunshine!
Came here especially for the Vietnamese pancake as I’ve been told that they were the best place to go for, went home disappointed. It was a decent size, however it lacked a lot of flavour – even with the dipping sauce which was way too sweet. Never order the avocado smoothie here, you’re literally paying $5 for a smoothie with 1% avocado. All I could taste was the milk with the slightest hint of avocado, what a waste of money.
As for the service, it was meh. Lady only wiped down half of the table and left the other half dirty. They forgot a drink we ordered, didn’t provide the table with chopsticks until asked among other things. Would not recommend.
It was still early in the evening and all the nearby Vietnamese restaurants were empty. Without customers to help us gauge the quality of the restaurants, we left it to luck. Seeing the bright pink sign for Nhi Nuong 2 Sister, we decided to try them out. It wasnt our best move.
Other than a table of 4 who came in much later than us, we were the only other customers waiting for our food. Yet the waiter managed to give my partners meal to the other table, even though I had been served mine quite some time before. He didnt realised his mistake, but we noticed that another waiter did and he went into the kitchen to sort it out. More time went by before someone actually came to let us know what happened, apologised and informed us on how long more we had to wait. Not happy!
We ordered the Bun Bo Hue and the crusty rice with diced beef (aka claypot rice). The broth of the Bun Bo Hue lacked richness and flavour, but the pork loaf and pigs blood were quite tasty. The crusty rice was decent. I enjoyed the slightly crispy bits of rice stuck to the pot and the well-seasoned diced beef, but other than that, it was nothing exceptional.
We did however enjoyed the custard apple smoothie so at least one good thing came out of this.
We ordered the below and everything was nice.
Pork spring rolls
Sugar cane prawn
Special broken rice
Seafood fried rice
This place lacks attentive service and we came at 6pm for dinner on a Sunday night and they claimed that all pancakes were sold out – waitress said all sold out, we tried another waiter and he took the order but note that it will be at least 30mins wait for this dish, but later waitress returned to say not available, so this makes me doubt whether it was sold out or that they couldn’t be bothered in the kitchen! Understand it is a complicated dish but if one is not prepared to make it then take it off the menu
Service was really poor and unorganised. We were asked if we were ready to order before we were given menus. Food was average at best and rice vermicelli which the SO ordered was a tiny portion in comparison to everywhere else. Really disappointing, wont be going back.
It was past 8:30pm and we strolled around to see what was available for dinner. Restaurant was full and ambience was pretty good. We ordered corn & Tom yum soup, grilled chicken with tomato rice and chicken pancake. To start off Tom yum was disappointing, had no kick and literally taste less. However the grilled chicken was amazing. It had a charcoal bbq kick to it and very succulent. The pancake was 70% filled with sprout and few pieces of chicken. Overall the food was just ok.
