Modest bakery with friendly service. We bought the white sourdough and carrot cake.
Sourdough was freshly baked and had a nice crust.
The carrot cake is probably one of the best I’ve had. Incredibly moist with just the right amount of frosting. Well priced. Looking forward to my next visit 🙂
Finally woke up early enough on a saturday to find this shop open. It’s like opening the door to sourdough heaven. Have so far tried their wholemeal, white, rye (light and dark) and corn sourdoughs. None have disappointed.
Real bread!. You can taste the love in this bread! Delicious. Real, chewy, filling bread made the old way.
Best Sourdough. Soft, chewy, delicious white sourdough is what I buy. It is so perfect it’s addictive.
Love the raspberry friands and the crumpets too.
When I don’t have their bread I’m dreaming about it!
Will visit again. I visited the bakery a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised with the friendly service that i received. Purchased the old fav – gingerbread sticks? – which are delicious !
Keep up good work
Memories of Europe. Ah, now this is what I have been looking for! A bakery that makes real and authentic sourdough bread, the way it used to be made!
The bread here reminds me of the kind I used to eat as a younger man back in my homeland, Poland. The smells as I entered this amazing little bakery took me straight back to Krakow in the 1960’s, when every precious crumb counted. Even though times were tough, the beautiful breads back then were delicious, and Pure Bread Bakery definitely takes me back to those days when simplicity didn’t mean a lack of quality.
On this visit, I bought a loaf of the Roggenbrot, which is a dark, traditional rye. I could fall in love with this bread – it’s homestyle European. Nice.
I will definitely be back for more, and I cannot wait to try some of the extravagant cakes and other breads, especially that they are good value.
