Decided to give it a try but end up very disappointed. Stay away from this place if you can.
1st, they refuse to accept the Entertainment Book’s discount for Yum Cha, we found out when present the card after the meal. They said to us this was on the rule of use on the Entertainment book which actually didn’t have such rule.
2nd, some of their food or maybe sauces have MSG, after the meal I started with headache and tingling. My family don’t eat MSG, and that is why I am sensitive to this and can tell immediately if there is any in the food.
3rd, through out the entire Yum Cha session, there were only two tables including our table. We realised that was why when we first arrived they wants us to order all our Yum Cha at one order call because they simply don’t want to cook to order just for one table. I felt it was rush and not relax at all doing Yum Cha in such rush way. At the end a waiter came to our table take said to us if we are not going to order anything she is taking our ticket to counter and bring the bill to us, its makes us feel they want to eject us out but restaurant was 90% empty at that time.
Such a ridiculous restaurant. Really bad service, really sh1tty dishes. I had been waiting for 1 hour and the dishes were finally coming. No more second time to seat
I have been to many yum cha and I Think.this place is rather under rated, excellent service, good quality food and a nice ambience.
Highly recommended
Went here a few weeks ago with the fam. I honestly wasnt too enthused as Im not usually a fan of Chinese food but the food here was delicious! We got the mystery banquet and seriously everything was so good! The service were outstanding, the staff so friendly! Highly recommend!
Went on a Sunday for Yum Cha and it was easily the worst and most expensive we have ever had. Very limited selection and was hard to get waiters attention. Don’t go here with an entertainment card because they refuse to honour it for yum cha even though at the start of the meal they said thay was fine, making it a very pricey lunch.
Came here with friendsAs a newly settled Chinese I probably say the food here are quite average or even lessbut the atmosphere is goodlive music customers can sing and dance in the stageunlike other hustle and bustle Chinese restaurant this place more like a place for old friends catch up or family gathering
my friends are die for the dish — fried flounder which has crispy skin and crunchy fried shallot topping with chilli
staff are friendly too
Recommend it to someone not only after fancy Chinese dishes but also enjoy a relax and warm environment
I had recently been to Eastern Court for a family birthday and it’s unfortunate to say that I was more than underwhelmed.
I was expecting a relaxed, refined and enjoyable Asian dining experience however what I got was far from. My first negative is restaurant’s meal prices, far too expensive for the portion size and quality that you receive. In particular with the fried rice. It was obvious to see that the ‘fried’ rice was not even fried! Just steamed rice scattered with some veggies. And in addition, it was served on a minuscule sized plate. It doesn’t look good for a restaurant if I can find a much better tasting fried rice at my local Chinese Take Out for a lesser price and far better quality.
Next, my family and I decided to go for the banquet option as usually it equates to a more efficient and cheaper dining experience, in effect to find that this unfortunately was not the case. We worked out that choosing the banquet option was more or less the same as just ordinary dining. So, in my opinion this makes it a useless choice to offer to customers. (Future diners take note) Furthermore, the time we spent waiting for the food was beyond ridiculous and to top a unique experience with a cherry – the food was cold!
To finish on a somewhat positive note, I will say that staff were incredibly friendly and accomodating but unfortunately to a point where it was annoying. To explain I will say, staff were almost hovering around tables and watching customers eat. I understand it may have been their attempts to ensure customer’s dining experience was to their satisfaction, however it was unnecessary, as we were not able to even breathe in peace let alone enjoy a meal.
I hope Eastern Court improves and considers more effective options, as at this stage I will not be recommending any time soon.
