A nice local bistro for a good hearty meal. I ordered the roast of the day which was lamb and the meat was cooked to my liking with great flavour. There was alot of gravy over it which was a tad salty but otherwise a satisfying meal. 🙂
I still love this place. maybe because it’s a local for me but the food is always pretty good. Yes its a little commercialized but its a pub and it has good food.
What a great local joint! If i ever wanted a hearty meal close to home, this is the place. Great for steak, parma or the odd-end curry with rice. Order at counter and it usually only about 10-15min before your delicious meal gets to your table. Service is always exceptional and plenty of table seats!

Well I’ve been here many times but never reviewed . This is your typical pub grub just average with average prices they don’t specialize in anything special basically your slap happy meals. Good social area in the sports bar.
Unfortunately slow service and the food definitely not worth the wait. They clearly lost our order and used the excuse that they had a backlog in the kitchen. Problem was others on our table ordered after and had eaten before ours arrived. Just tell the truth you would be surprised how reasonable people understand.
The Swine has been going to the Excelsior for a very very long time. Credit where it’s due. It is one of the longest serving beer barns in the Northern suburbs. The Swine think it isnt bad for a pub parma, steak, or fish n chip type meal. It’s true the Swine thinks prices could be cheaper – inflation hey? Bloody Nora! As you’d expect the bar has lots to drink. Pokies have taken over from the band room. Ya can’t fight progress? Clientele here may be rough as guts but they will punch you with a smile. The Swine says god bless the North!
