We found ourselves too far from the hipster cafe wed planned on going to today and it was cold and raining heavily. Souvlaki GR was close by and appealed from the street.
Id had food from here before on Uber Eats – see earlier review. Today we ate in. Exceptional souvlaki here. We had one pork and one lamb between us. We both agreed these were the best wed ever eaten. They even beat those wed had before in the Greek Isles a few years ago.
Incredibly tender and flavoursome meat in these. Great quality meat, lovely flavours and cooked fantastically. Its exceptional meat. Beautiful pita bread as well. A few fries and a little salad as well and theres your meal. These are really delicious and a steal at $9.90.
One word of warning though. Dont get caught like I did. There are no conveniences at Souvlaki GR if you eat in which seems bizarre. I had a 250 metre trip down to the Croxton Park Hotel in the cold and rain!

Ordered on Uber Eats. I really liked this food. It was infinitely better than that of a competitor souvlaki shop I tried a week or so ago on Uber Eats as well.
I ordered a dinner pack with lamb with extra onions. And, bless them, thats exactly what they delivered. Every element of this food was good. The lamb was really quite gorgeous. Warm, soft and very well flavoured. Surprisingly good for a take away order. The salad and dip was beautiful too. The salad ingredients were very fresh. The pita bread was great as well. Warm, fluffy and nicely flavoured. The extra dolmades I bought were delicious too, and I know the difference between a good and bad one. These were beauties. Freshly made and delicately flavoured and they even provided a slice of lemon. Happy days.
I was very surprised by the quality of this experience. This was one of the better Uber Eats experiences Ive had in recent times. There was evident care here in how the order was received, compiled and delivered. The food was really good – it was much much tastier than I had anticipated – and the restaurant delivered exactly the food that was ordered on the app and in good time. And, the bits of the order that were meant to be warm were still nicely warm, exactly as it should be.
A very good experience. A Greek friend told me later that this is the go to souvlaki shop in the area. I certainly recommend this place.
