The Old Milk Bar used to be our brunch go-to until a few weeks ago. I don’t know if they changed their coffee or some staff but the coffee quality went downhill.
I feel like the food quality has also declined. I tried Dr. Marty’s Crumpets with smoked salmon and beetroot puree and it was awful. I am really not a picky eater at all but I could not understand this odd combination. Try the chili scramble with queso instead – trust me.
I did have an issue one day with service. I stopped in for a takeaway coffee but was told I couldn’t use EFTPOS and had to pay for 2 coffees to meet their min EFTPOS spend. I thought this was weird as the person cashing me out asked someone else if they would let it slide, and she nodded yes. She then turned to me and charged me for 2 coffees anyway and gave me my pre-paid coffee card. I let it go but we haven’t been back since! Really disappointing as we used to love it here.

My favourite cafe! Really friendly staff and yummy food. I love the big portions and the coffee is great. I love that you give a generous amount of avocado for the price however I wish you would leave it out of the fridge because its not very appealing eating cold avocado.
