Won’t be back. Stopped in for lunch to be greeted by a very rude blonde member of staff. The food was undercooked and I’m not sure what oil was used to cook the chicken in but it was disgusting. The chips were undercooked and the aioli is clearly watered down and not taste at all. Overall the food was bland and disgusting.
For those about to speed read, this is for you.Summary in a nutshell: This is far from the venue you would wine and dine your boss or your in-laws at in an attempt to impress them. However, need a warm, hearty establishment, perfect for a last minute family affair, or somewhere to unload the kids, sit down and just have a straight forward meal without the standard parenting troubles that seem to arise at most other restaurants? Then welcome to Green Olive! I have dined here on many an occasion, from groups of 50+ to date-night with the wife. Yes you get your very occasional overcooked steak, soggy chip or two or rubbery piece of seafood, but the menu variety, flexibility for kids and dietary requirements and the impressive indoor play area make this a winner on their own. Don’t walk in expecting a ‘fit-for-the-Queen’ dining experience, and you won’t walk out disappointed. Have returned, will continue to return. Fair on price and stacked with character.
