Seriously good coffee here. Ordered the cold drip (shadow boxer blend from Rumble Coffee Roasters) which was strong and super chocolaty – quite possibly the best cold drip I’ve ever had. The flat white uses the house blend of Five Senses Crompton road coffee which is also very good. The Cog isn’t a full service cafe with eggs benedict, but instead is a cute specialty coffee house with a small selection of food in a second hand book store. Absolutely worth a visit!
I took a friend there on the recommendation of a colleague as I am not a coffee person (I had a delicious hot chocolate). Â He said it is one of the best (soy latte) coffees he’d had, very smooth in flavour, Â which is quite something from someone from Melbourne!
Are you in the car driving through Gippsland and wondering where the good coffee is? Are you worried that you’ll read the review of someone who isn’t a ridiculous coffee snob like you are? Problem solved. This one is the duck’s guts. It is also very close to the highway and has parking out the front. Call ahead and they’ll even make you a takeaway. The 2nd best cafe in town is called Three Little Birds but it isn’t even close to the coffee you’ll get here, and it is further from the highway.
Best coffee in Traralgon, served by someone who is clearly passionate about his job. So refreshing. Being surrounded by all the amazing books is a bonus!
