Worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Asked the waitress about the quantity of the food they give and they assured that the duck deal we ordered was enough for two people. After about 20 minutes waiting, the waitress comes with a chopping board with duck and some carrot on it. The quantity of the duck was so small and the meal itself was appalling. Was more like a $5 meal at most rather than the 30 bucks we spent. Suggest to avoid this place if possible.
A Birthday celebration of 13 people was had tonight & I have nothing but praise for The Royal. Everyone loved their meals, staff were friendly & helpful, service very prompt. Will definitely continue to frequent the hotel
A very nostalgic place, with kitschy decor. Very family and senior friendly. Steaks are cooked surprisingly well for an Aussie tavern with pokies machines. Good solid Australiana.

Wonderfully Predictable
Consistency is a good thing – especially in a food establishment.
The restaurant was unpretentious but as neat as a pin. Service was fast and efficient and the food was well cooked and reasonably priced.
When you just need food you understand without needing a foreign dictionary, have no desire for wait-staff to double as entertainment and just need to eat, the Royal is the ticket.

Went tonight with hubby. His meal the barramundi was great, my lamb shanks were tough and the gravy was burnt.

Went here for a quick lunch with work. Meals reasonably priced and are your typical pub fare.The gluten free menu had a few options on it – it would be great to see more! Very impressive that the chef knew what they were talking about in regards to GF eating and cross contamination. Chips were cooked in a dedicated fryer!!! Not often that you see that at a pub.My meal was a bit bland (GF grilled fish and chips) and would be nice for the chips to have a bit of crunch to them
