Changing my review from 5/5 to 0/5. New owners who only care about making money. The food was absolutely terrible. The girl taking orders is such a lostie has no idea what she’s doing. Worst of all they charge 1.5% on ALL card payments which is ILLEGAL. Don’t come here.
—-Went in on a Friday night and they were super busy, always a good sign. The chips were absolutely delicious, crispy and fresh. Fish was in s light batter which was perfect. My partner had a burger with the lot which looked like something out of a gourmet burger shop, he loved it. The service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.
A fortnight ago new owners took over which seems to be the norm at this fish and chip shop in Mitcham. The two visits to the new owners have been fair only. The batter has just peeled away as tho it has not been cooked properly. The previous owners were the best that had been in this shop for ten years – but the new owners are off to a very ordinary start.
Ordered on a Saturday night, was less busy than expected. Went in and the service was absolutely terrible.. If it wasn’t for the young girl that’s been working there for ages and has been through many changes of management I can’t see this place working. Size of flake received was very very small and minimum chips hardly feeds 2!!
New owners have done wonders to this place. The chips are finally delicious, fluffy and crispy- the addition of chicken salt is delicious. The grilled fish is great, extremely flavoursome and doesn’t have the thick coating other places have on their grilled fish. Potato cakes are amazing, nice and crispy… people are lovely and don’t know why others are complaining as the food has only improved since their takeover.
