Loved this little place. I had been wanting to visit since it opened however I am not from the area so its hard to get there during the week (when its open). I enjoyed my flat white and corn flake crumbed chicken burger. The service was prompt and friendly with decor that is quirky and sweet.
First and foremost, I use to be a Little Hugh regular when they first opened to almost 18 months ago but I havent been for a while (almost 6 months) and Im not sure what happened but the atmosphere and ambience is different.
Im torn on what to rate this Cafe bc 6 months ago the coffee, service and pastries were impeccable, delicious and fresh. I would have rated it at least 4 stars but after my visit today, I was disappointed.
I dont mean to nit pick but heres a couple of things:
1) I ordered a coffee to have here but it was served in a take away cup.
2) the coffee was too hot that it burnt my tongue.
3) when the coffee was cool enough to drink, it was too milky.
4) I ordered a cake and it was too cold, like it was still defrosting. I told the ladies and they warmed it in the microwave for me. Not sure if the cake was from noissette but it seem too sweet to be from there.
5) I had to prompt the waitress to give me some cutlery so I can eat my cake.
Like I said, I use to frequent this place and Ill definitely give it another chance. I hope they take my feedback and make some improvements bc Little Hugh was (hopefully still is) a little gem.
