Came here for Sunday lunch as it’s close to Westfield Knox and we wanted to do some shopping there afterwards. If you are not a member, you have to do a quick sign in at the front counter before you enter, which is really simple and takes one minute. Upon going inside you will get seated and given time to look at the menu before going to the register to order, just like any normal bistro. We were happy to see $13.90 lunch specials on offer and ordered two things off that – vegetarian fettuccine and pie of the day. In addition we also ordered a soup of the day (pumpkin soup) and a kid’s roast of the day.
Now, the food is quite good value for the prices stated and most of it was done well, however I thought my vegetarian fettuccine had too much parmesan cheese on top (a bit too heavy) and although there was avocado listed in the ingredients, I couldn’t see any. Maybe there was some but it all melted? But at least I should’ve seen traces of it or even tasted it… I was pretty much only able to taste the napoli sauce.
The pie of the day seemed good enough although I didn’t actually taste it. The pumpkin soup was delicious and creamy, and the kid’s roast also hit the spot. The meat was tender and tasty. Chips that came with the pie and roast were fat and crispy, and complemented our meals well. Overall not a bad choice for lunch although it’s got more of an elderly crowd, which again is to be expected of a club/bistro. Quite family friendly and got plenty of sunlight shining in during the day.
Okay for a quick bite but the visual layout of the place didn’t really appeal. Definitely set towards an older demographic.
The inescapable chatter of the pokies really rates a place down.
Went for lunch today and ordered from the Chef’s Special. We had the Entertainment voucher but was told that we can’t use the voucher for the Chef’s Special. So we ordered two dishes from the main menu. We had the Seafood basket and the Sizzling Lamb loin chops. Food was good and so was the service.
The website does not mention the hours for lunch. This the second time we went as we missed out the first time. Last week, we arrived at 2 pm and we were told that they have stopped serving lunch. Lunch is from 12 noon to 2 pm on weekdays.
Well cooked steak. Very tender. The chips were nice and crispy and they were nicely seasoned too. I would’ve liked more mushroom though.
We also had the Chicken Mignon. Highly recommend this dish on their fairly limited menu.
Ordered the slow cooked osso bucco and it was terrible! This meat needs to be cooked long and slow and be tender and falling apart. What I got was tough, grissly, sinewy and clearly not cooked nearly long enough. It shouldn’t of been served. Not impressed at all and won’t be back
The staff were lovely but the food was very average. Dry tacos greasy barramundi and avocado dip that was not avocado.
Where has the quality gone?. Been here before and food was good, went last night and was dreadfully disappointed, food was disgracefull, pork was dry and old, just like the chips, certainly wont ever be back here.
