Sadly this restaurant has changed hands and so has the quality of friendliness. Visited this restaurant for soup and coffee was greeted with a young girl who had no idea in customer service. The soup was ok, coffee not there usual standard. To make matters worse a large sign has been displayed on the counter cash only. Sorry but will not be returning.
Not sure how to be polite and friendly while leaving a review when we were not treated politely or friendly when my husband and I walked in this morning no hello no smile then asked a young girl if we should sit anywhere and she shrugged and said I dunno. So we walked straight back out.
The new owner Emad is warm and welcoming !
A humble request if the coffee can be improvised upon . Sadly I drive to Nunawading – Peddlers Cafe for the prefect coffee every other day .
And if the vegetarian risotto can be brought back to the menu .

we have been coming here since it opened and the breakfasts were the best around. However, since the new owners have taken over, and we have given it three goes, we will not be returning. This morning we had coffee spilled all over the saucers, drinks orders forgotten, Hollandaise sauce out of a jar, breakfast cold, French toast with only half the ingredients on the menu, and charged the full price – and no hedgehog! Sorry guys, you need to lift your game to enormous heights to get us back.
I as a regular customer am extremely disappointed that I will not be visiting this cafe again. New owners took over late last year which can be exciting as I thought perhaps there maybe a few new dishes ect however all I got was wrong orders a cold coffee & different milk to what I had asked. This happened over several visits.
This can be expected with a change of ownership but on a regular basis is unacceptable.
I am disgusted to also discover previous staff have either resigned or let go, this action has resulted in new staff (family/friends) running around like chooks with their heads cut off & fake greetings.
The lunch I had here was terrible. It was supposed to be fish tacos. There were three tiny tacos. The shells were soggy, the battered fish was cold and there was not much else inside the taco. It was unappetising and I left still hungry. Wont be giving this place another chance.
Great little suburban cafe with standard fare. Very busy friendly staff and a good breakfast was had. Nice place for Sunday out. Porridge was delicious
