Domino’s pizza in Warrnambool seems to be a very busy and popular spot for a quick Thursday night feed. I happen to be up in Warrnambool for work and was looking for a cheap and easy dinner after my shift. Having never been to a Domino’s before as I rarely eat from chain restaurants it looked promising, I mean how wrong can you go with pizza. It was almost 7 o’clock and the small store was busy with the usual screaming hungry children and what appeared to be the locals getting their regular dinner. After viewing the menu we where ready to order and where greeted by a helpful staff attendant. We chose to go for an item of there Melbourne range ordering The Lot pizza minus the anchovies on a thick deep pan crust as well as the classic Vegorama, minus the cheeses with added avocado and olives on a thin and crispy base. Our orders where complete and we sat and waited patiently as we observed all the yelling from the kitchen as delivery after delivery was sent off. Our pizza’s where ready in about 20minutes or so which wasn’t too bad. Mouthwatering and stomaches grumbling the smell was too much and we just had to take a sneak peak before leaving the venue to enjoy the meal in the comfort of our hotel. Half way out the door I noticed that there was not an ounce of avocado in sight on my pizza. Without hesitation I went back to the counter and after standing there for 15minutes I was finally spoken to. I informed and showed them the lack of avocado that I was lonesomely craving and they where rather apologetic and promised to make me another at a speedy pace. My new pizza arrived after a lengthy wait and I was told that I could keep the other one for free as a condolence for the inconvenience that my other pizza was now cold. The pizza where very average but for the cheap price and a free bonus pizza I could not really complain. The Lot pizza featured rasher bacon, pepperoni ,cherry wood smoked leg ham, pineapple, olives, mushrooms, capsicum, red onion with oregano was a cheesy flavoursome pizza. Ordering the deep pan crust is a must as it was nice and thick holding the toppings of the pizza well. Toppings where varied in ratios but overall this was a pretty good pizza. The first Vegorama (the one with no avocado) looked sad when compared to the new and improved one I received in addition. This pizza actually looked like someone may have spent more than 2 minutes making it with more toppings than the original order. The Vegorama had mushrooms, sweet cherry peppers, baby spinach, capsicum, fresh tomato and red onion topped with oregano with added avocado and olives on a thin and crispy crust (minus the feta and cheese) was pretty good. The base could have been crispier but it wasn’t soggy so I guess that was acceptable. The toppings where cooked well and the avocado completed the meal satisfying my cravings. Both pizzas where seasoned accordingly and when one was for free one could hardly complain.Other than the fact that they screwed up my order, Dominos pizza’s are very average. I never eat takeaway but on previous occasion I would defiantly opt for Crust Pizza over Dominos purely due to the larger assortment of pizzas and overall better quality.
