What a horrendous place. I’ve never had service quite so bad. I ordered scotch fillet steak medium rare. When it arrived it was anything but. In fact it was close to cremated. Now any chef can make a mistake so I sent the food back to be replaced. I was then told that because they had just started playing for 100 people upstairs I would have to wait and that they wouldn’t put a rush on it. Now I get that functions need to be catered for but when someone has complained about their food and has 3 friends eating already you don’t make them wait. Get a chef off his backside and get him rushing the order through. I’m now having to sit, hungry, watching my friends eat. Decision made – I won’t be eating here and have had to request a refund. Maccas it is. At least they will serve me within this lifetime. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.Update:Having spoken again to a different member of staff an apology was actually given. That member of staff was incredible and even brought a bowl of chips for me on the house to make sure I wasn’t hungry. That’s customer service. Perhaps she should be given responsibility for training the other staff to her excellent standards.
My score 3.5 (3 for food & a half star for their beer). Until recently we lived near Warrnambool for 9 months & had a family birthday dinner here late May. It is situated on the outskirts of town (Melb side), which puts it at a big disadvantage position-wise compared to the more central places. It was raining heavily, but there were still quite a few patrons – the kids took off to the large indoor playground immediately.  Overall the food was (surprisingly) good – everyone was happy with their meals & the young woman taking our order was pleasant. We tried the garlic pizza entrée which was very nice (& garlicky). Granny enjoyed her Seniors roast of the day. For mains J & I shared a Tasting Plate/Salt & Pepper calamari. Both were quite good & had more effort & care put into them than a similar pub on the Dennington side of town. I really enjoyed the Dirty Angel porter on tap (brewed in-house). Large space & modern fit-out – not a place for an intimate date, but not bad for a larger group with kids in tow.
Pretty bad. I chose the ‘clean eating’ fish special which was essentially some sad-looking pieces of alleged snapper drowned in what tasted like a bottle of chilli lime marinade and a few soggy vegetables. My husband’s chicken parma was somehow soggy yet dry at the same time. Free paddle-pop for our 3yo was the only redeeming feature.
Find us on instagram: loveatfirstbite_aus A solid pub that does a good parama. Came here constantly when i was studying at the uni down the road. Can’t go wrong with a place that does solid pub food!
We had a group of 16 on a busy night, service and food were great. Staff and Manager went over and above to cater for our needs. Greta place for big groups and families, highly recommend.
