There are many Sushi places with a similar takeaway format in warrnambool and surrounding area, but only this one has a permanent queue of customers outside. We has several takeaways from here and all were excellent, and a fraction of the price that i would pay in London. I highly recommend this restaurant
My score 2 stars. We lived near Warrnambool for 9 months over last spring/summer/autumn & had a light lunch here once while shopping at Gateway Plaza – it was tucked away at the rear of a small food court. We were the only people to order from them while we were there & perhaps the locals were more in the know than us (the bakery next door was doing ok sit-down trade). From what I glean from other reviews we should have just gone for the sushi, which is meant to be ok. Instead J & I shared a Japanese omelette with fried rice. We also had a very good chilled tea drink, which was really cheap if bought as part of the meal. Service was ok, but the bowl & cutlery supplied were flimsy white plastic, which diminished the experience (no sign of melamine bento boxes as pictured above). The food did take a little while to come out, so at least it wasn’t out of a bain-marie. However, the omelette was bland & the fried rice was poor – not much other than rice & a few token vegetables that were quite dessicated (memories of takeway from the 70’s – yes I’m that old). On top of this it wasn’t even that cheap (apart from the drink – bargain)!
Ordered beef teriyaki and the fried chicken and rice meals and we both felt sick afterwards. Dry beef and undercooked chicken. An overpriced stomachache!
These guys do the best home delivered Japanese food. (Warrnambool store) So yummy without the greasy after taste. Great choice of dinner meals!! Looking forward to our second delivery tonight and would highly recommend to friends. Thank you 🙂
