My friend and I ordered a lamb pasta and pork lion. My pasta, was nice and very filling. However, my friend ordered the pork lion due to the recommendation that this would be the least dry pork option. When served, his meal was quite dry and seemingly overlooked. When asked by the wait staff how the meal was, we said this, however no apology or attempted rectification of the disappointment occurred.
Excellent food and good service. Had the pork it was absolutely delicious. Friends also happy with their meals, salmon and risotto. The ambience is pleasant.
Good spot in Warrnambool. Typical hotel restaurant. I’ve eaten here a few times. It’s never been a bad experience. Food is great but not gourmet status, and neither is the price though. Good prices. Staff were friendly and cheerful.
Ambience you would expect from a hotel restaurant. Staff were lovely and had character. For entree shared the trio of dips and half dozen oysters Kirkpatrick. The daily dips were obviously homemade and were delicious. Tzatziki, almond and roasted capsicum and roasted pumpkin with feta which was definitely the star. The oysters were sweet and the Kirkpatrick sauce divinely on the cusp of being too salty but reigned in enough to just be moorish. I suffered food envy with the mains. My fettuccini with prawns, bacon, roasted tomatoes and fresh lemon was delicious – the pasta al dente without being hipster-ishly crunchy. But my partners meal was the star! The slow roasted lamb shoulder in a rosemary crumb with a beautiful rich jus, medium-rare grilled lamb cutlet and mash with greens was perfect. For this dish alone I definitely recommend.
