My score 3.5 stars. We lived near Warrnambool for 9 months over late spring/summer/autumn & early winter. We had lunch here 4 times over last May/June once we discovered it. We only tried it cause we got a WW shopper docket for a lunchtime Parma deal & we were pleasantly surprised by what we experienced. The bistro is out the back of the front bar & is very light, airy, clean & modern. There is a beer garden next to the bistro which would be great in warmer weather & the bistro itself has nice modern chunky tables & comfy large booths (which we preferred). Young woman who took our orders at the bar was pleasant & relaxed. I had the Parma – $10 & it was more than big enough for lunch. Nice clean parma, good salad & non-oily chunky chips (fresh oil & care used for sure). J had an entrée of Salt & Pepper calamari which was the star. Must have been made in-house as it didn’t taste or look like it was out of a freezer bag like many pubs. It had a strangely inappropriate herby dipping sauce for the calamari, which was thankfully in a separate small bowl, so we just ignored it after the first taste. The salad was fab – Apple & fennel et. al. with a really nice vinaigrette. Overall a great dish & wouldn’t be out of place in a fancy restaurant (although at $16 not cheap compared to the parma). We also had one of the best draught ciders on tap I have ever had. Flavoursome, appley & dry like a serious English cider (5 stars!!!).  Pub probably suffers from being away from the Liebig St food precinct. Worth further investigation if you’re into good pub grub!

Extensive pub menu, good daily specials. Nice decor. Friendly staff. $60 for 2 mains and a drink each. We had mushroom risotto and garlic prawn salad. Prawns were really fresh.
