Lukewarm about this place. Food can be a bit ordinary and tasteless but the service is good and it’s close to home. I wouldn’t go without a shopper docket.
Typical pub food. Service quick, but need to allow time before serving entre and main course. Entre had been on the table 2 mins and mains turned up.Don’t clear tables until all parties have finished eating. Just unprofessionalOver all typical pub food and cold beer.
My friends and I decided to head to the blue bell for their trivia night as we hadn’t checked it out before. When we heard the parmas were under $10, we had no idea that they would be as sizeable and delicious as they were! The whole table were full after we ate parmas and everyone commented on how good they were! Staff were very professional and accomodating and the meals were out very quickly considering we ordered 6 of them. It was a great way to start off what was a fun night of trivia! Best pub meal in Ballarat!
Always find the staff to be helpful when we visit. When we had a problem with our meal one visit recently the staff acted professional and promptly. We were very impressed. New meals were replaced asap. Always enjoy my meal when we visit. Impressed with how they dealt with our problem. Thumbs up.
Not any more. The Bluebell Hotel has always been one of my favourite places to go for a good pub meal , but after tonight I will have to review my choice. I ordered the pumpkin soup for starters – it has always been the perfect appetiser but when it came out on this occasion it tasted like flavoured water -the bread roll that accompanied it was warm but hard as a rock. My husband informed them of my disappointment and was told that others had been saying the soup was too thick – for those that don’t know pumpkin soup is meant to be thick and spicy. Management no doubt quickly watered it down – of course this is to their advantage – but they will lose valued customers who are used to quality meals being served at the Bluebell.
Worst Experience Ever. I have never experienced worse customer service in my life even at a pub. The wait staff were all very rude but one in particular, Helen.
Meals came out all over the place, they have no system in place to determine whose food is whose if you are on a big table in a group.
They have a policy that if they don’t ask you if you want garlic bread, you get it for free. We didn’t get asked and when mentioned, they tried to charge for it.
Entree and Soup dishes were not cleared when they brought out mains so there was a stack of dishes on the table. We waited almost 30 mins for them to clear the table after we all finished as we wanted to serve a birthday cake, when we asked them if they could please clear the table we were told by Helen that if we be cleared when she was ready.
Waited 20 minutes for side plates to come out for our cake. Never saw them Ended up just using serviettes.
Food was mediocre at best, I had chicken kiev, chicken was dry and crumb was burnt and chips were over cooked and dry. My partner had the pork belly and got one piece, someone else on our table also ordered pork belly and got two pieces quite larger.
Will not go back there again for any reason whatsoever.
Save yourself the pain and stay well away from this place.
Contrary to these other reviews ,i found the staff friendly and helpful!The food was very good value for money and the service was excellent.We went for lunch and the place was teeming but it still only took 10 minutes to be served ,and i have been in top class restaurants in melbourne ,costing an arm and a leg and have waited 40 mins for a meal which has turned out to be average to say the least!
