My 2 girlfriends and I decided to have lunch today as we had not been to the Commercial for quite some time and upon entering Traders Bar saw that most tables were occupied (apart from 3) so went to the Counter to ask for a table and get a drink. There was one Waitress working who was serving a customer in front of us, she then excused herself to attend to another patron waiting down the other end of the bar. She promptly served him then another 2 patrons who came up the Bar AFTER us, so after waiting for nearly 7 minutes we decided that it will be some time if we ever come to the Hotel again.

The menu was small but had all the pub favourites, they also had a decent specials board.

The food was excellent. The variety for starters/entrees were simple but tasty and then the main meals themselves were nothing short of superb. Recommend to all.

Food was amazing i had prawn twisters and butter chicken was spicey but fantastic. My dad is vefy fussy with eating and said his steak was beautiful which he hardley ever says . keep up the good work
I met three friends here on a Tuesday night. The bistro was not busy at all. 1 hr after ordering our main meals arrived before the soup( which was inedible and had a plastic flavour). The chicken Parma was burnt black and couldn’t be cut. The roast was cold and had shaved supermarket ham. My calamari was straight from the freezer, served cold and the salad dressing was the worst I have ever had. How do you get food so wrong?
I had dinner here with family and friends earlier tonight and the dining area was relatively empty at 6:30PM despite it being a Saturday night. However, the new and improved look to the venue is amazing and is definitely an improvement to the previous ambiance.
The staff were lovely and we didn’t have to wait too long for our meals to arrive. I ordered the Scotch Fillet and this was relatively decent. For the most part, I’ve never had an excellent steak at a hotel/pub restaurant and this was one of the better experiences. I asked for medium-rare and towards the middle, it was to that degree. The top of the steak was a bit too charred for my liking and did have a rather strong burnt taste to it. The steak was served with about 5 baby carrots with a layered potato and pepper sauce.
Overall, I did enjoy my night here and the fact that you could use a shop-a-docket voucher here was great – if you bought one main meal, you could get the next for $5. This made the steaks priced at a rather decent price.
