Ive been here quite often as this restaurant always offers nice experience of dining. It is cooked and served by students from here. Sometimes, they even offer 50% off on total bill as they want students to have chance to practice doing service. I love their wine list. You can pick your favourite ones from a diverse list

Angliss Bistro is a restaurant ran by students with two teachers; one teaching cookery and one teaching waitering/hospitality. The wait might be a bit long due to students only being on their second semester of their study but you’re potentially eating food from chefs that might end up in high end restaurants when they graduate with lots of potentials.

The food is a hit or miss due to some students having high level of skills vs some students might be a bit clueless of what they’re doing. But nonetheless, most of the food is good for its value.

    Disclaimer – I am a student here.

I’ve eaten here as a customer, and I’ve also made food as a student here.

If you want a good meal at an affordable price, made by the future chefs that will be working at the restaurants you’ll probably pay 4 times the amount for, then visit the William Angliss Bistro. The cost of a 3 course meal, without drinks was $35. I had the duck risotto, gnocchi and the brownie. The mocktails were good, and I baulk at mocktails.

Obviously you have to be patient with the wait staff and the students, because they are learning. But the food is top notch.

I do wonder why William Angliss Institute doesn’t promote their restaurant more, it probably doesn’t want to overwhelm its students by being too popular!

Living 15 minutes away, I walk pasted often so we decided to try out the dinner menu. Wanted to book for the full menu but it was Buffet night so decided to give it a go.
The serving staff were helpful, polite and very nervous. Our very young looking wine server was very shaky.
Small but decent wine list with very reasonable prices. Food was fresh and great value for the price, but I do have a huge gripe regarding the setup.

When we arrived at our appointed time we found a queue of about 20 pple for the buffet. Not having been there before we decided to wait 10 mins before joining the queue and order drinks first. We would have been probably just past the middle of the queue considering the numbers. We found that most of the better entrees had already been taken. There was no antipasto, no salmon and no cold meats left. We asked a server if there was more seafood to be bought out and was told no, it’s all bought out at once.

Looking over to the carvery we found a large quantity of meats but found that there was absolutely nothing to accompany them as all the roast vegetables and greens had been taken and again when we asked we were told that they would not be replenished. A more sensible arrangement would be to bring out the seafood and vegetables in two batches so all the patrons could enjoy the meal.
Desserts were all tiny individual serves – great sizes for trying a few. But there were no signs saying what each one was and when asked, the servers didn’t know either.
Could find no fault with the young training staff, instead the faults are in the set up which I presume is organised by the staff not the students.

Went for a food excursion and tour of William Angliss Institute where we were given the opportunity to eat food created by amateur cooks in order for them to practice their skills. Needless to say the food was splendid and the waiters were extremely attentive and polite. The way everything was set up made it feel like fine dining

The foods were really good! My yellow curry fish was very delicious and fresh… Desert was yummy but too sweet for my tastebuds.. I had a sugar coma
