Very friendly service and good food. It’s a classic fish and chips shop. Their chips are cooked perfectly (honestly the best chips for a local fish/chip shop) and as do their fishes. However their potato cakes tend to be very dry and flavourless, but that’s basically what a potato cake is. This place is great when you can’t decide on what to eat, as who doesn’t like fish and chips?
Came here a while ago and was quite pleased with my fish and chips, so recommended this to the mrs and we tried it again. Sadly not all that great – everything was greasier than I remember and the potato cakes didn’t even get touched. As the other reviewer said, with a pizza place, chook shop and Thai place (all of which I’ve tried), this place could do better…
Got takeaway from this place about 6 months ago and it was quite good. However 6 months later we ordered a burger with the lot and a chicken burger with cheese. The chicken burger turned out to be a beef burger and the burger with the lot was just cheese, beef and lettuce. Overall the burgers also looked very wilted and dried out. It wasn’t even that busy on the night. With a thai takeout, pizza and pasta place, vietnamese bakery and safeway right next to it, I wouldn’t bother with this fish and chip shop.
