WORST FISH AND CALAMARI EVER! Ordered here after reading reviews and from a friend’s recommendation. Ordered the special flake as well as the normal one – they are identical in size and disgusting flavour. Horrible durian or tropical flavor to the batter, limp and gooey, weird light colour. The calamari was not a squid ring but rather mushed together ground squid – like a chicken nugget or a fish finger, and the batter was like the type you find in an outback Aussie RSL or Bowls Club… they were inedible. Our corn fritter was a sloppy mess stuck to the bottom of our fish – a little bit of floury batter and some corn kernels – it fell apart because it was undercooked yet sweaty feeling and again inedible. Chips were hand cut and ok but a bit bland and floury. Potato cakes were good. So we paid over $50 for a few potato cakes and chips. I will not be returning to this place.
Great, old style fish and chippery. Good service, good price and the food was great. Would recommend! We had flake, potato cakes, scallops and chips. Very generous servings.
My regular fish and chip shop was closed so I decided I would try these guys. I ordered a hamburger and 2 potato cakes over the phone. Waited 10minutes before I went to pickup and waited a further 15 minutes in the shop. Busy, but I was not informed over the phone. Initially told $12 for my order before they corrected the mistake and charged me $8. Burger was not worth the wait.
Amazing chicken schnitzel sandwich, fish and chips was also great, fries could use a little more crisp but maybe it’s just my taest in fries, clean, tidy, lovely owners
