Absolutely fantastic! Delicious fresh food bursting with flavour. The galettes are light and you can see the ingredients are premium quality. The roast duck rice paper rolls were stunning. Very friendly service. I’ll be back very soon.

Little Republic Cafe is an ode to Little Saigon during the French occupation, serving ‘East meets West’ inspired dishes, focusing on crepes, galletes and great coffee.
My partner and I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon, the weather was out and so were the people in Williamstown. As we entered wewere greeted by the friendly server who seated us inside. The place was half full, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
Let’s start with the coffee. LRC use beans from a boutique roastery (ReverenceCoffee) from right here in Melbourne. The coffee was smooth, full of character and served at the right temperature that it didn’t last too long in front of me… but great coffee under $4 in Williamstown? Winner Winner!
As for food, I ordered the Little Republic Revolution – a Gallette with roast duck, cucumber, spring onions and orange sauce. I was hesitant to order this at first, as it was on the pricey side of the menu and duck can be easily murdered when not cooked correctly.
My trepidations were put to ease when the duck came out beautifully – nice, moist and full of flavour, not dry and reheated like I was worried about.
The individual elements of the dish were initially a little bland to my liking, a little more orange sauce perhaps? However, once I combined the elements together, and ensured I had a piece of orange with every bite, it was superb.
Definitely, a place to check out when in Williamstown. I will be back with the weather to try some of the dessert crepes with ice cream, and of course the coffee.
