I’ve been here at least half a dozen times. It’s my go-to Italian restaurant. It’s interesting as the menu changes daily so I usually check the website to see what they’ve got whenever I’ve got a hankering for good Italian.
The food is great. My vego other half usually orders gnocchi if they have it – it’s the best she’s had. Recent highlights for me are duck risotto and an awesome steak.
I love the decor. Stacks of old Italian photos. I usually choose a table near one photo that has four guys in an alley looking around a corner. I spend half my meal wondering what they’re looking at.
The vibe is great. Doesn’t get too loud – there’s acoustic foamy stuff on parts of the walls. It’s relaxed, with interesting music. The guys that run the place seem as passionate about music as they are about their food. Kinda why I like the joint.
They usually only have one or two reds & whites on the pour, which I would be happy if they expanded on, but if that’s my only complaint they’re doing fine. The wine they have on offer is always good anyway.
Had an absolutely exquisite meal at Abbondante last night. We opted for the Chefs Selection at $55 per person and were not disappointed – both in terms of the quality of the food and the quantity. Started with a delicious Aperol spritz and a selection of antipasti – particular highlights were the peppers with yoghurt, arancini and scallop. This was followed by course two which was soft melt in the mouth pillows of gnocchi with a perfect duck ragout. Next up were the beef cheeks – slow cooked to perfection. And just when we thought we couldn’t possibly fit in anymore food, we were presented with dessert – an incredible vanilla bean and yoghurt pannacotta and stewed fruits with a crumble and marscapone cheese. Could not find any fault with the food – the flavours are authentic and honest, true Sicilian comfort food. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was fantastic – the guys were constantly checking back with us to see if we needed anything and make sure we were happy. A very welcome addition to High St, Windsor. If you love good quality food, then you need to visit this place ASAP!
We celebrated my birthday with another 10 guests. We were all gobsmacked by the incredible delights on the menu, the quality and service. The dishes from start to finish were created to celebrate the love of food…as it should always be. A mastery of wholesome quality ingredients fused with traditional northern Italian flavors. Succulent meats, flavoursome sauces and to top it off the best tiramisu I have had the pleasure of eating!! Well done!! Highly recommended!!
We were recommended this place and it did not disappoint. Beautiful food, excellent service and and a great vibe with some cool tunes playing. Will definitely have to revisit this place a few times over.
Stumbled upon this place through social media and had been wanting to try it out for a while. The restaurant has a pleasant cosy atmosphere with photos everywhere and candles on each table. The service was good and attentive The wine was priced well for the quality. I ordered the Tagliatelle which on this particular night incorporated mushrooms, feta and sage. The pasta was perfectly al dente and flavours were delicious. The partner had the Spaghetti with crab, chilli and tomato, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall a very pleasant experience and will definitely recommend this place to family and friends!
A lovely little Italian bar tucked down High Street in Windsor. If you want authentic Italian pasta paired with the perfect wine, this is the place for you. The service is friendly and they know what they’re doing. Just let the staff order for you if you’re feeling adventurous! The gnocchi was delicious!
Welcoming and friendly service. Small menu but enough variety to cater for most tastes. Wine list is well thought out and the wines by the glass were very nice. Food is excellent and very, very tasty. We will definitely make this one of our regular favorites.
