Their nightly $4 pizza special is a thifty Thelmas dream! Mexicoq (think taco) and Coq de palle (careful of the fresh chilli itll blow your head off) their bases thin but doughy, the toppings fine – but as they say you get what you pay for.
The staff are cool, friendly and up for a chat which is always a plus. Internally the style reminds me of a share house a hodgepodge of styles, which is clearly not their draw card. Their offerings of cheap eats is definitely their draw card. Ill be back to try their offerings, give it a shot if your purse strings are tight.
Lucky Coq is one of those standout venues that everyone has seen but for me Ive never visited so thought I should tonight As we had a full hour to kill before dinner. We just lounged about on comfy chairs with a classic 80s space invaders table between us. I had the Balter XPA while Kellie had a delicious sweet Watermelon infused vodka and lemonade. Not a bad way to kill some time in a funked our venue with plenty to look at. A relatively relaxed crowd too.
Went for lunch with a large group, sat upstairs in the courtyard area on a table big enough for us all. Plenty of room and it was surprisingly quiet at lunchtime on a Tuesday afternoon. Great deal on $4 pizzas and other items on the menu were great for sharing. Food came out quickly, yay! The toastie was crispy on the outside and had the right amount of gooey hot cheese inside, pickles were a nice combo with it. Fries were good, chicken strips were really good and a little on the spicy side! Happy happy!
